Just a big shout to Dave at Mission Beach information centre. We visited mission beach November last year with my parents and went to the information centre. They were so lovely in there, turned on the cassowary display and chatted. My parents bought my daughter a cassowary shoe charm. She loved it. However lost the shoe with the charm on it last month. I rang The information centre and spoke to Dave. He got more charms ordered for me to purchase and so very kindly posted them to my daughter. Such over and beyond customer service you are a champion. So if you’re in the region head in and greet Dave and the crew at the Mission Information centre and grab a coffee and a chat.

We had a wonderful experience here at the Information Centre. It is the first thing that you see heading into town. The lady and fella were both extremely friendly and helpful, pointing out various places of interest all the way up to Cooktown and giving us maps to find them. They also said that as there are road works in town, it would be best to leave the car here and take a stroll along the boardwalk beside the beach into town. We did just that and it was most enjoyable. 😎 It is decorated beautifully with plenty of trinkets and gifts. Highly recommended.

To find d out what do do and what to see - this is definitely the place to get all the information. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. From there you have a short walk to the absolutely magnificent beach and your holiday starts.

At the beginning of November 2022 my husband and I (tourists from Germany) booked a snorkelling tour to the Great Barrier Reef in the „Mission Beach VC“ and paid for it right away in cash. We were intended to go with Mission Beach Dive.

The money went to Tropical Coast Tourism.

The tour was canceled.

We are still fighting to to get our money back. Today is December 28. The EO in charge, Patrick Bluett from Cassowary Coast Tourism is telling us until this very day, that Bendigo Bank in Mission Beach (their business bank) had so far no possibilities to do international money transfers. And by the way, the bank is not opening until 3rd of January. (The bank‘s website says something different) But in a few more weeks or so it could work out, according to Mr. Bluett.

If necessary, I will present the e-Mail dialogues.

No need...

Wanted to book a reef tour and waited until the couple in front of us was served; each of the 2 centre assistants had one couple of tourists with them. We looked at all the things on offer, got a local map, waited and waited; and waited some more. No acknowledgment from anybody. The helpful advice given to one couple in the meantime, had advanced now to bicycle riding on Magnetic Island. We left the visitor centre and came back later; but the situation hadn’t changed: the same people still receiving lots of information. Really good service for some. We gave up...
