Cafe Johalia — Restaurant in Queensland

Husband had the BLT which was freshly made on crispy sourdough. It was a good size and well priced at $15 with chips. The chips were crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle just as they should be so two thumbs up here. I had the chicken and gravy roll. The chicken thigh meat was very tender and the gravy was not overly salted like every where else I have had it lately... another two thumbs up! Both meals came with a side garnish salad that was tossed in a beautiful dressing. Well done guys. It is nice to have a tasty garnish that is not just for looks. Lastly, another reason for the 5 stars was the gentleman who looked after us was super friendly and really made us feel welcome. Thanks so much for lunch...

Finding a gluten free (GF) restaurant as a Coeliac can be one of the most impossible tasks, especially in small local towns with limited cafes. However, today I had the most delicious GF Egg Benedict I have ever had at Cafe Johalia!! The staff were very reassuring despite my cautious approach when ordering and even replaced my entire meal when they suspected they had accidentally contaminated it. Cafe Johalia had a fantastic atmosphere, polite and bubbly staff and most importantly, incredible, reasonably priced food. I could not recommend this Cafe more so make sure to stop by on your next trip up north, whether you are a gluten lover or gluten...

My experience here was a bit of a mixed bag, landing it at a 3-star rating. My partner thoroughly enjoyed his meal, which is definitely a positive. And I must say, the chai latte I ordered was absolutely delicious – a real highlight.

However, I was disappointed that they didn't have any gluten-free bread available as requested. While the kitchen was accommodating enough to provide me with just the bacon, eggs, hollandaise sauce, and spinach, it wasn't quite the full Eggs Benedict experience I was hoping for. The individual components were tasty enough, but it felt a little incomplete...
