A pretty walk along the gorge, with a potential river crossing or wade at the end of the trail. Plenty of families with kids when we went, it's about 30 minutes each way plus maybe add a few minutes if you're taking your kids. Some gentle hill parts but nothing tough. There is a short suspension bridge, very safe but don't drop your phone! The views are mostly limited to the river, not really any mountain views here. This would be a great spot on a hot day as it's very shaded and you can dip your feet in the chilly water. There are several signs warning about potential flooding/rising waters as it is near a dam, so maybe don't go if it's bucketing rain. Read moreStart at Big Hill Mountain Bike carpark and walk towards and past the toilet facilities to the start of the walk. It is well signposted. You'll come across a swing bridge where there are some nice small pools. You can continue along the walking path beyond the swing bridge for about 10-15minutes where you'll eventually meet the river again. From here need to follow the river upstream. Depending on how far you go upstream some sections are too deep to stand in so the ability to swim is a must. Water shoes is a must or else you'll bang and cut your feet on rocks. The other starting point is from the Mount Beauty Mountain Bike park. Toilet facilities are available from both of these.
