We visited on a Wednesday, and was definitely worth the visit. There is no admission fee - but I’d suggest you volunteer a few dollars for the upkeep. Paul showed us around, and he is a wealth of knowledge about everything Derwent Valley Railway! For a railway buff like me, it’s great to see up close and personal the display of locos and rolling stock and some of their history. It’s a real shame that the Tasmanian government (of any persuasion) don’t support this venture, being anti-rail.
