Although my husband and I arrived late, just before closing time, we were warmly welcomed and had an enjoyable time.
Since we arrived when the kitchen was closing, we were informed that only bar snacks were available. Luckily, we were in the mood for nibbles, so it worked out perfectly for us. We ordered a variety of bar snacks, including patatas bravas, toasted pane di casa with garlic butter hot pot, and cheeseburger sliders. The portions were just right for a light evening bite, and each dish was flavorful and satisfying.
The service we received at The Rigby was top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Their inviting nature added an extra touch of warmth to our dining experience.
The ambiance of the restaurant was delightful, with dim lighting and antique-looking furniture that created a cosy and charming atmosphere. It enhanced the overall vibe of the place and made our evening all the more enjoyable.
Although our visit was relatively brief due to arriving near closing time, we had a good time and left with a positive impression of The Rigby. We look forward to visiting again in the future, perhaps during regular dining hours, to further explore the menu and experience more of what this wonderful restaurant...
Read moreWhere do I start? Staff at door extremely rude to my elderly mother who did not understand what she was being asked to do.ORDERED to sit down at the bar, barman was disinterested, rolled his eyes when filling our order because we hadn’t decidedwhat we wanted when he asked. . Menu has changed radically/ either you have a ‘banquet’ which contains loads of stuff you don’t want or you are forced to choose 3 plates from the small plates menu ( mandatory on weekends). As a result we had WAY too much food that we didn’t want snd couldn’t eat. My husband is coeliac and they have discontinued the gluten free beer. After a phone call prior to our visit to establish this he took his own beer which he was advised to do. The waiter then told us we would be charged $4 per BOTTLE of beer in corkage fees. The food arrived in stages as we were told that the number of plates couldn’t be delivered at the same time. As a consequence I had a plateful of broccolini followed by a20 minute wait for my mushrooms. On a practical note the music is too loud to hold a conversation. We Have been several times before and the menu was divine.(fish was excellent). Not so any more. Still a pretty venue but the down sides now far outweigh the upside. Will not...
Read moreWow! Not ever would I have thought you'd get such fancy food in Maitland!! My husband and I enjoyed date night last night, The Rigby was my chosen location as I wanted to go pre-covid but was booked out the day we had planned to go... now, I see why. I was prepared for the "classic vibe" of the place, part of the reason I wanted the experience. My husband, was not. He was a but sketch on dining there but persisted because it was where I wanted to go. We got the $55 per person spread, neither of us eat lamb and swapping that dish out was no issue at all. We asked to be surprised with the replacement and were given sirloin steak instead. No photos of the food because we were too busy loving every single mouthful. Dessert was this absolutely incredible brownie type thing. We both would usually skip out on desserts even when paid for in deals like this but I had to see and taste what would be served. The Rigby got it spot on. I also thoroughly enjoyed a rhinestone cowboy cocktail. We 100% will be back, definitely a hidden gem! It might be our regular date night location. Staff were all very well presented and polite. Thanks for such a...
