The fundamental amenities and recreation areas in the park are adequate, however, the park lacks certain essential leisure resources. these include a central or park based cafe/restaurant area, as well as a fenced dog park. The idea of a dog park is crucial for the area as many families have to travel as far as north Toowoomba or further to the closest off leash park. It is beautifully laid out and when you know the history of the park, and its hosting of the Austral festivals back in the 1800's you know why it is laid out that way and its significance not just to Toowoomba but to SE QLD as well.
