Lovely beach with lots of parking, there is a sauna, Polar Bears Club house, changerooms and showers. Lots of parking and safe areas to lock your bike. Coast offers food and drinks, can get very busy with cars and weddings though. In the arvo, when the sea breeze Freo Doctor cracks in, wingfoilers will come out and play. Great place for viewing the WA sunset, a dog beach is located at the Northern end of Leighton not Port Beach, so it's a good 1km walk. Watch out for Rangers if you walk your dog in the non dog area. The Dog beach is very long going all the way to the groyne at Cottesloe, so best to start at North Leighton near the overpass bridge as it gets very hot quickly and there's no water after Leighton Beach until you get to "Steps", and worse, no toilets either until you get to Cottesloe. Plenty of bins and bags from the Dog Beach onwards heading north. But beautiful stretch of WA coastline. Please note that no camping or overnight sleeping is allowed.
