We went over to Coast for our Friday lunch today! What a shame it was so disappointing. The venue is cool and but the service/set-up is a disaster. We don't mind the idea of the 'oven to order' - even though we'd never heard this term and apparently neither had the hostess. But it means that when something is ready in the kitchen it's served, even if the other meals aren't ready. The problem was that dishes came in dribs and then some dishes didn't come AT ALL. So, 2 of us didn't get our meals. When we asked, they said there had been a 'computer malfunction' and some orders were lost. They couldn't explain how some parts of the same order were not lost which is curious. They then said the manager would be right over and that everything would be sorted, the manager would come and speak to us and we would be refunded but still receive the meals that hadn't yet come. Well, the manager never came to the table, we had to go and ask and then Peter (who we were later told wasn't actually the manager) came over. He didn't want to listen to our concerns and just said "I'm here now and everything will be sorted." Customer service 101 - listen and say sorry and everyone will be fine. Act like an arrogant jerk and piss people who were actually behaving reasonably right off! He gave us a refund but monies for the separate orders together. The meals did finally come and they were tasty - like all of the food. The Poke salad had way too much raw red and spring onion though. So, unless they get their service together it won't be a great place. One other thing Peter - about my request that you put some bag hooks under the high tables. I am the customer and I don't want to throw my bag on the floor from a great height or hold it in my lap. Even if you were to drill some holes in the bottom of the timber tables, I don't think they'd be ruined. But, there is also steel there that could easily accommodate some drill holes. Customer service 101 again. Thank me for the suggestion rather than telling me pretty much to F-off! Phew -...

It is a great venue, with an amazing location - there is a nice view of the ocean throughout the whole place. A part of the venue has glass wall protecting customers from the wind which is great for when it gets a bit cooler, while there is still a possibility to sit outside on the patio if you wish to enjoy the breeze while having a sip of your favorite drink.
You order everything at the bar, serve youself with tap water and there is a section where you can serve yourself with cutlery.
We initially wanted to order fish and chips and Angus steak for us to share but after a recommendation from the bartender we opted for two $10 fish and chips instead of the one from the menu as they were smaller portions, and the steak.
All the meals came with nice crispy chips. Fish and chips were good size for a special and came with a delicious homemade tartare sauce. The only thing we really didn't enjoy from our mains was the fish itself as both our pieces were completely dry and without any flavour. Not really sure what happened there but that definitely caught us by surprise considering it is a beach side restaurant.
There was a lack of service on that occasion as nobody came to check on our food, and we were a bit surprised that nobody came and cleared off the dirty plates from our table even though we stacked them up and pushed them to the side after we finished our mains.
Dessert was definitely the best part of the meal. We ordered a chocolate mouse dessert that came out looking fantastically - like a small chocolaty island surrounded by amaretti sand. Very creative and very delicious.
Would recommend this venue for dessert, catching up with friends or colleagues over a drink or coffee, or having a cup on your own while enjoying the lovely...

We have been twice before for breakfast and have enjoyed it very much. Visited today (15/02/15) and was terrible and I mean terrible. When I enquired as to why everything was so "crap" I was told they had two functions on (Birthdays etc). It was by no means full but obviously placed in the too hard basket for the staff who were working today.
Service: Shocking 1/10
Coffee: Cold and old. (Buffet type) No sugar or sweetners available. Hot water for tea was tepid at best.
Breakfast #1: What breakfast? Waited patiently in line....no bacon, no sausages, no eggs - NO PLATES!!...err, no breakfast.
4: Breakfast #2: Cooked by Stevie Wonder, no, in fact I bet Stevie wonder could cook a better breakfast. Bacon was so under cooked it resembled something that had been boiled rather than fried? Sausages were just, and I mean "just" cooked. Mushrooms were cold and insipid. In fact the only thing that was remotely "hot" were the baked beans that had been stewing away in the sun for how ever long?
Had a better breakfast at a mine site. No Joke, this place fleeced me of $93.00 for three buffet breakfasts that resembled something a work experience kid had made whilst drunk or on drugs.
Shall not be spending any money there again and i will tell everyone I know. I have been in the business and have owned my own Cafe/Bar/Restaurant so I know how it is sometimes, but seriously guys, you need to buck your ideas up.
Nearly a hundred bucks for three plates of crap with accompanying cold teas and coffee?.........Pffft No!
Having invited friends down to meet with us for a rare get together and raved about this place to them and my visiting Mother in Law, I cannot tell you how disappointed I was. Appalling...
