Stayed at Stradbroke Island with friends few years ago when I lived in Brisbane. Great beach. Came here around July and it was time of Whale migration. Amongst the surfers were swimming school of dolphins and towards deeper end could see the whales. Absolutely breath taking moments. Going to visit the Island again during winter hoping to see the whales and dolphins again. It has great restaurants, beautiful walk along the North George Walk, great villas and apartments and clean beaches. We took our cars in the boat. Can not wait to revisit with my friends and families. πŸŒΈπŸ¦‹β€οΈπŸ½πŸ₯‚πŸŠβ€β™€οΈπŸ„πŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ›³πŸ–β›±

My wife and I flew from San Antonio Texas for business, we landed in Brisbane and flew the perimeter of Australia to include Tasmania. Two friends of ours that live there recommended we spend our last three days at Stradbroke Island, so glad they did. We were lucky and were able to book a suite at the Whalewatch Ocean Beach Resort, looking straight out at the beach. Sunrise's were outer worldly. Being a surfer it was great to wade out in the water and get some pictures of the locals. Definitely recommend a stay on this island.

Stunning beaches that stretch for miles! Great for swimming and surfing, although caution depending on the weather, as the beach can be closed at such times. Steps leading down to the main beach, and a relatively small parking area located near the life saving building. No dogs allowed on leash too.
