3.5 stars Come early to find a carpark. Or park the car nearby and walk a little. Small area. Crazy busy and crowded. There are various stalls selling flowers, fresh fruits and vege, food, arts, handcrafts, and clothes. Too many people, just walked around, and bought something, then left. 2-3 Tables with chairs ate beside Mary's Laksa. Some food stalls have long queue, eg. Mary's Laksa, Sari Rasa Sate, and a Crepes stall. Mary's Laksa: longest queue as it's reputation. Very good value. Good service. Recommended. Sari Rasa Sate: charcoal BBQ Chicken, beef or lamb satay skewer $3@, tender meat. Pretty good. Good service too. Recommended. Ruby G's canteen & Bakery: no queue here. No price or name tag. Only wanted to take an almond croissant and a chocolate bread home ~$8.5@, however, it's too messy as the chocolate coating was melting in the paper bag. We ate all immediate. Not bad.

In Darwin overnight and would miss the Mindill night market. But found this instead. And it did not disappoint. It was vibrant, had lots of stalls selling local craft. Also had lots of food stalls selling a myriad of Asian delights. Headed straight to one with the longest queue - how could so many people be wrong??? Again, we were not disappointed as the laksa was not just moreish but delicious, and priced suitably as street food. There were no restaurant prices here, so that too is satisfying. We also found a stall selling deconstructed versions of Malaysian street food glutinous rice cakes - again very satisfying with the reinvention of delectable delicacies. Would have loved to linger but our stomachs could only fit in so much!!! Will definitely be back next time we come round/up this way ðĨ°

This market reminds me of home, in tropical Malaysia. The setup resembles the night markets back home (pasar malam), although this one is in the daytime (read: scorching heat). You will be spoilt for choice in terms of food; we had the seafood laksa and it was yummy (service was fast even though the stall had the longest queue). I also liked the fried sesame ball with red bean filling, from a stall just slightly behind the laksa stall, selling Thai sweets and dessert. Lots of drinks stalls selling juices and shakes and lassie. There are also plenty of arts & crafts and knick knack stalls.

A small but good size market, diverse in its range of Asian food on offer, I found it very authentic and delicious. There's a smattering of European food as well, but Asian reigns supreme here. Two stalls sell beautiful helconias and so many tropical fruits are also available whole as well as fresh cut. It was such a lovely experience to sample so many different food in the land of perpetual sunshine.

A mixture of food and crafts with limited food choices. Plenty of Asian style food such as lasks, sate and rice dishes. Juice and smoothie options and some fruit and veg. The food is all in the centre with the market trinket stalls located on the street. If you love markets, donât go out of your way to visit unless you are hungry.
