Parap Bakery — Restaurant in Northern Territory

An amazing cafe in a nice spot close to the city. They have an excellent variety of savoury and sweet pastries, with their pies being my favourite. It's a good place to dine-in out of the heat, have a glass of cold water and grab a bite to eat.

The staff and management were excellent in ensuring that my order and other customers were seen too in a timely fashion.

I had a friend here who ordered a fruit platter from the bakery and it was excellent. I also cannot recommend any other place apart from Parap bakery for their custom cakes as well.

One thing that had my curiosity was the potential for more vegetable options to be available on the menu. It's only my personal suggestion, I think the current menu is...

Congratulations to Parap Bakery on creating something that convincingly achieved the outer appearance of a dark rye loaf of bread, but without its typical texture or taste. The loaf I bought on Saturday for $7.60 was large, yet chewy, airy foam, without any taste; toasting it was the only way to make it marginally palatable. Speaking as someone who regularly bakes bread, I seriously doubt whether there's much (if any!) rye flour in yours. By the way, I notice that a month ago another reviewer was equally critical of your rye bread; perhaps it's time to make some changes. The bread quality was unacceptable (one star) and thus over-priced, but the service friendly, environment presentable, hence...

11.30 am purchase a sausage roll. You would think it would be fresh. It was the second worst I've ever bought, it was dry, old, burnt and tasted like crop. I also bought a coffee that was not nice. The service was OK and they refunded my sausage roll that I only took a half bite out of before I realised how terrible this bakery baked products are. I didn't get anything else for lunch and now I'm super Hangry. Now I've finished work for the day I fear I may not survive if I don't find something to eat ASAP. If you haven't yet worked it out I'm Absolutely disappointed at this shop, looks like a nice place from the outside....
