To tell you the truth, I always love a good market, but I struggled to find what the attraction was, sadly, with this one.
Upon arrival, we waited in a car line up to enter the markets of 45 minutes.. on arrival to the parking area, we got hit with a $9.00 parking fee. Walking up to the first part of the market, there was a variety of shops, but as we walked around the entire venue, we found so many stalls selling the same stuff. There was really nothing we hasnt seen anywhere else that excited us. There were hundreds of people there, prams, and dogs, and no one knew which way to walk in any given direction. The food stalls were all over the shop, and by the time you walked from one end to the other, we were at the point of just grabbing something that was next, then when we did - people barged in knowing we had been waiting for a while, so we walked away hungry. The shops i saw most of, which were in all different stalls, were magnesium pain relief, Bali and boho clothes stores, dog clothes stores, and jewellery stores soaps, the usual ... for us, I think we will stick to country markets where there is more room to walk, more to see with typical locals showing different stalls, that are a bit more personal and made by hand and their creation and ideas... I guess it is easy for sellers now to buy things overseas and sell it for a profit. Some of the prices I've seen on this day made me laugh and question why. Overall, the grounds and facilities were kept clean. The live music with a young country singing girl was inspiring, and I wish people hadn't barged in front of us at the German sausage place as they looked delicious! We wouldn't make the effort to come up again. Too many people and the stalls were too expensive for a market..if you are reading this, im sure you can make up your...
Read moreLocated at 80 Memorial Drive, Eumundi, Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺 These markets have to close to the best, if not the best artists market I have been too. There’s about 600 stalls now so it has grown exponentially since I first started coming. The Market basically takes over the whole town and is extremely popular so if you’re driving, expect to have trouble finding parking 🅿️. The market is held every Wednesday and Saturday from 7.30am until 2.00pm, whether it’s raining ☔️ or not. There’s numerous food trucks and stalls situated around the market and also there’s great cafes in town but they can be extremely crowded and busy. Very hard to get seats. I did hear that the organisers for the market are extremely selective about who they allow to have stalls, your product has to handmade and also made locally. This pretty much guarantees high quality products as far as I am concerned. I know that over the numerous occasions I have come, I have been so happy with all the great items on offer. You also can find fresh produce from the local area. The market sells everything from clothes, shoes, handbags, handmade soaps, souvenirs, handmade timber items like chopping boards and bowls, confectionary, plants, handmade arts and crafts, paintings and so much more. There’s always street entertainment and buskers around also which really adds to the atmosphere. It really takes you the day to really look thoroughly through the market so I recommend getting here when it opens and plan to stay until it closes. Plus , the earlier you arrive, the better chance of finding a car spot easier. I really love Eumundi and would not hesitate to recommend. Thumbs...
Read moreThis could have been a 5 star review if it weren't for the carpark trolls working for Eumundi Markets, treating everyone like they are an inconvenience on them & life itself....wow 👌
I drove up twice in one week and had the exact same experience, so it wasn't an off day for either of them . They just haven't made great life choices to this point !
Beyond parking, though.
Eumundi Markets ✴️✴️✴️✴️
This, for the most part, isn't for everyone, and if you have teenage gamers, then leave them at home 😊, you'll thank me later.
If you love arts & crafts, from hand-made bags to the house made relish, then you will appreciate the lineup Eumundi Markets has to offer .
There is so much to try and buy if you live for homemade goodies & love fine foods, beverages, candles , bath soaps & perfume, and so much more , this place has everything you'll want .
We purchased our outdoor setting from here 15 years ago, and not only are they still there, turning them out. They are still the best on the market today !
This place isn't for everyone.
Whilst there is a lot to see , this isn't a market where you'll find antiques or collectables, much less car parts, or pick up a couple of tools for the garage . You've got more chances of getting a cold beer on tap than you have a gear knob for Family Commodore , or a driver's door handle for the old XD Ford !
Long distances travellers take note :
Make sure you plan your trip wisely, as you don't wanna be pulling into the Aussie world garage for a quick bathroom break - any dignity you had will be all but a distant memory walking into those...
