Not a bad beach to visit at least once, it is quintessential for a Sydney visit. A little dirty, with tourists littering regularly. Although the council does clean up the beach daily in the early hours to keep it tidy — visitors, please consider your impact and take your litter to the bins.
A hot spot for tourists, not so much for locals. It can get cramped with many tourists visiting the beach, and the water flow patterns can bring up a lot of seaweed from time to time.
There is a small seawater pool to the north of Bondi Beach, good for children to have a play in the water, as it is shallow, walled off from the ocean, and also warmed by the Sun.
Public transport to and from Bondi gets very busy, and the locals keep rejecting plans to extend the train line from Bondi Junction Station to Bondi Beach, so buses get crammed full and it can take a while on the very busy roads between Bondi and the CBD. If you don't mind the expense, take a train to Bondi Junction Station and then a bus from there, for expediency. To see some of the local suburbs, then take the bus all the way from/to the CBD — it will take longer but you might see some places to stop at along the way. Parking is available.
Overall, this is a nice, small beach to visit at least once, with lots of food and shopping options nearby tailored for a tourist demographic. There is also the Coogee to Bondi trail that is very pretty and definitely worth walking at least once if you are not mobility impaired (it has a lot of steps and is not suitable for the elderly or infirm if they struggle with lots of steps, and has no...

If you’re sitting in the front of the beach you be able to see the beauty of the Bondi Road. This road is constructed on a hill. When the bus is climbing that hill, you can only see the ocean water which might give you the illusion that the bus is just going to jump into the water, this view gives you mixed feelings of excitement and a little fear. The water there is extremely clean, and you can plan to stay for a couple of hours, but you'll end up staying there for as long as you are free. I was there during the winters, so the water was really cold. My feet went numb after 5mins of dipping them in water. I can only imagine what it would be like during summers. You can find children learning how to surf in that cold water. It was a quick stop for me but still I made the most of it. After the walk at the beautiful beach you can go for a coastal walk to the Tamamara beach. You can enjoy the beauty of the endless Pacific Ocean during the walk and then you’ll end up the Tamamara beach and if you want you can go ahead to next beach. A typical tourist points which should be on the itinerary of anyone who is...
