Me and my friend went on a not to busy Saturday night and ordered the normal double Bondi meals for takeaway and some chicken bolas, we went down near the beach to eat and when we opened our food we automatically noticed the chips were soggy but that’s like usual Oporto Fries so we ignored it, we moved onto the burgers which were cold and not that great. So we decided to go back to Oportos to ask for new burgers. The man that took our compliant was of indian or some desi descent, he then accused us of eating more than half of it but we ignored that he then took our whole bags including the chips and threw them and said he’ll make it again. While waiting we said “we have our chips too right”, then he accuses one of us (me) of finishing the chips when I barely touched them. He ended up making the burgers and giving the chips at the end. My experience with this Oportos was pretty negative they need new staff before it gets worse, my advice go to an oportos with no works from a...
Read moreThis place has gone downhill drastically over the last five years, even before the Covid Pando. The chicken fillets are so tough it tastes like they've been thrown on the grill straight from the freezer without defrosting. Salad and slaw sides are not fresh. Place is really run down and seedy looking, chair covers ripped. God knows what it looks like in the kitchen if the front is so unkempt. If you want a decent chicken burger, go next door to Betty's Burgers. Hopefully Betty's puts this dump out of business.
Note: There are a number of five star reviews for Bondi Beach, which people have confused with this takeaway. This is the Oporto takeaway people, not the actual beach. Also a couple of reviews from people who think this is the first Oporto. It isn't the original. The first one was in North Bondi shops and sadly closed years ago....
Read moreOrdered two double fillet Bondi meals, both had just a single fillet sliced in half and which didn't even fill the burger. One of the buns had mould on the bottom part of it and the other burger had limp lettuce. While the mouldy burger was replaced it was difficult to get through to the staff member who couldn't speak English as a first language. She was unable to understand that there was an issue with mouldy food. The second burger had a stale bun. My guess is that the food authority would have a field day with their food practices.
Add to this rickety tables caked with grime along their bases, ripped and torn seating arrangements as well as dirty mirrors made what should be a flagship store a total killer of a franchise. If that was my first Oporto burger it would have also...
