With temperatures reaching 28 degrees, we decided to head to Promenade Restaurant at Bondi Beach, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant was quite popular today (Sunday), however the 20-minute wait for a table for two was well worth it. We were eventually seated at a bench table with short stools in the Front Yard Bar, offering a fantastic view of Bondi Beach. It’s worth noting that the front Yard Bar operates on a self-service basis, with orders and payment taken at the bar when customers are ready. For our meal, we opted for the crumbed chicken burger with chips, cherry tomato flatbread, a glass of white wine, and a watermelon frozen cocktail. The chicken burger was a highlight, perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the chips were great. The flatbread was fresh, flavourful and complemented the meal wonderfully. The drinks were refreshing and well-prepared, adding to the overall enjoyment of our meal. Despite the busyness of the restaurant, the service was efficient and the staff were friendly, contributing to a pleasant and relaxed dining experience. The self-service system worked seamlessly and we appreciated the casual yet professional atmosphere of the restaurant. The Promenade Restaurant offers a great option for those looking for a laid-back meal with stunning beach views. The food is delicious, the service is efficient and the ambiance is just right for a sunny day at Bondi Beach. We left satisfied and would recommend this spot to others seeking a casual yet quality dining experience.

An unforgettable Bondi Beach experience at Promenade! I visited Promenade Bondi Beach on a rainy fall day, and even without the sunshine, it was an incredible experience. The location is absolutely unbeatable — the patio directly overlooks the iconic Bondi Beach, offering sweeping views of the sand and ocean. Sitting outside under the covered area, with the sound of the waves and the fresh sea breeze all around, was so relaxing. I can only imagine how magical this place must be on a sunny day — I’m sure it’s packed! I ordered an Aperol Spritz and one of their pizzas, and both were excellent. The Spritz was perfectly balanced and refreshing, and the pizza had a light, crispy crust with fresh, vibrant toppings — simple ingredients treated with real care. Everything was beautifully presented and clearly made with quality in mind. What really stood out, though, was the service. The staff went above and beyond — not only were they welcoming and attentive, but they genuinely took the time to chat with me and help me plan the rest of my day around the Bondi area. They gave great local recommendations and were just so warm and friendly. It felt much more personal than your typical restaurant experience. Overall, Promenade Bondi Beach is the perfect spot whether you're looking for a relaxed drink, a delicious meal, or just a stunning place to unwind by the ocean. I can’t wait to come back on a bright sunny day and experience it all over again. Highly recommend!

We dined at the Promenade at dusk on a hot Summer’s Day - we were inside because it was very windy. It was comfortable inside because of the air conditioning. We were a group of 5, seated around a large table. The table was one away from a window with a view of the ocean. See restaurant photos. You don’t dine at a restaurant on a beach unless you love seafood. The whole baby snapper had sold out, but the whole barramundi was an excellent substitute. I had it baked with lemon and garlic sauce, but it could have had it flash fried, had I wished. The flathead fillets were grilled and were tasty and well cooked. The calamari - was fried and was a little floury. The chips were ordinary. The beans were excellent. I recommend the excellent coconut and tapioca pudding with blackberry granita. See food photos. The service was friendly and attentive, especially the waiter who kept coming around and filling the water glasses. The Chardonnay was good as were the cocktails. Watch out for the 5% ‘service charge’ which is later on explained as a gratuity which is automatically added to the bill. See photo of bill. You can request it be removed or changed. I left it because the staff deserved it.

It is always hard to be in a position where your view is over Bondi Beach, and you want to be a hated restaurant.

Bondi beach demands a casualness, you are looking at one of the most famous beaches in the world, but it is still a beach. The promenade has a perfect view of Bondi beach, this forces casualness and people tend not to get dressed up to go to a beach restaurant.

But then you want the restaurant to be exceptional, so the food and service must be extraordinary, but not in a formal way. So, the staff have to straddle a thin line, professional and casual. Polite, informative, and personable with respect and intelligence.

Then you have to have a vibe, the thing that is never able to be pinpointed but is a reflection of the venue, the “je ne say que” taken me years to conquer a few words of French.

Hence you must have casual, formal, personable, and informative and throw in vibe almost impossible but the Promenade has it in spades. The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble. From the moment we walked in it was obvious they cared. Water never had to be asked for, we were waited on but not pestered.

Ambiance was great, the service certainly was exceptional, I felt the food offering could not match service, but it did and more.

The menu is perfect, not too extensive so you get lost and not too small, so you feel you are being lead,

Entrees were excellent, I tried to find fault but struggled.

Jamon serren mel on shaved cheddar Whipped chicken liver parfait, pickles, vincotto, charred bread Sourdough Presentation was great, served with flair.

The drinks menu is extensive and refined, I was surprised at the extensiveness of the wine list however, as a one hat restaurant you are expected to have a substantial offering. The offering is a very good balance and well laid out.

The main course,

I had a scotch fillet, as there were five of us, we ordered a variety of main dishes, two of us ordered the steak. one, Spinach & ricotta mezzaluna, one, Saffron mafaldine one rainbow trout.

Sides of potato (amazing) and asparagus.

Main course was delicious and not the small offering you see in the middle of a large plate but more than enough, every mouth full was a delight. We each tried each other’s choice and without a doubt all were delicious, steak done to perfection.

And in an attempt to find fault we had desert

Dark chocolate and mandarin layered cake Lemon delicious, rhubarb compote, cream chantilly

I am not normally a chocolate person unless the chocolate is exceptionally good - it was exceptionally good.

The food is without a doubt superb, delicate, and sophisticated.

Pricing is very good considering location, the obvious culture of service and kitchen and quality of everything we experienced.

All in all, a great location, with a fantastic-looking restaurant, these spots normally never live up to expectation. The Bondi Promenade excelled, and the vibe is great. We all enjoyed the Promenade, and it left us wanting to go back...

The best beech-side restaurant in Bondi! This is a fabulous find. Make sure you reserve online to avoid queues and disappointment. The restaurant has a small but beautifully designed menu, specialising in fresh fish and meat. It is definitely 'fine dining level' in a very relaxed style. The restaurant has a variety of tables and booths with colonial style ceiling fans and a fantastic view of Bondi beech and the ocean through large open patio style wooden doors. We have been twice in the last few days and so have tried most things- highlights for us were the crudités with fresh humous, prawns and avocado, snapper, barramundi, and lamb. The sauces with the dishes were all stunning. Don't forget the baked cheese cake and the refreshing fruit panacotta. The wine list is excellent and we were lucky to have Ahmed the somelier from the CBD doing a visit- He and the team have put a lot of thought into the wines. Try the Tasmanian Chardonnay! As important as the wine and food is the service and it is fantastic here. The team were led by Brook. If you own this restaurant promote her or give her a pay rise as I would offer her a job today! Leadership and professionalism are complex skills and Brook has mastered them. The seamless professionalism, courtesy and care is not a coincidence. Brook and the team have created this atmosphere and most importantly they enjoy what they are doing. We were looked after by Jules and Lilly and they did a fantastic job. What lovely human beings. In summary great location, food, wine and outstanding service we will be back. ...
