This foreshore park is a tribute to the wise people of Sydney who over the years have spared so much of the beautiful harbour surrounds from development or in cases such as this and Cockatoo Is have returned them to general leisurely usage. Of course I am biased as my Dad John Merrington with his 21 years on Hunters Hill Council played a key role in the Reserves development. Fly a kite, catch a fish, kick a footy or just sit on the chair dedicated to him, feel the breeze and savour the 270 degree view. Hmm ......

I have through DNA and family history, found that my 3rd great Grandfather owned this land as named Clarke's Point. John Clarke bought the land for a rich sum of 75 pounds. A lot of money back in 1835. He and his brothers also built houses on the point. One of which is still standing, and that house is "Woodstock" in Alfred Street. History is marvelous. Thanks to the people of Hunter's Hill and the local council for maintaining this beautiful stretch of land for...

I wanna gate-keep this location for my NY fireworks as it is not too crowded. Plenty of spaces and do not need to camp whole day. Easy get in and out with free bus during fireworks. I came 2 hours before but some people showed up 15 mins before fireworks but still fine. The location not too far but not too close from the bridge and not the same direction with the wind to blow the smoke so perfectly for fireworks.

Super pretty!, very windy and pretty quiet (lots of parking) when we went for a walk around here on a Monday afternoon. The team working on boats at the dock were friendly while we gawked at the boats. Lots to watch on the water with sailing boats, ferries, and a learners sailing class. Mostly a flat walk and very lovely
