Fantastic place to come for a swim. My favourite times are school hours so that I miss all the rabble, cos the place is truly something else when it's peaceful and tranquil. There are so many areas you can lay, whether the shade or the sun. The walls around the pool are great because if there's a bit of wind you're going to be entirely sheltered in there. They've also got a little tuckshop if you need a packet of chips or a coffee to tie you over - but there are also some wonderful cafe's up the hill if you want something substantial. If you want to do some laps there's also a sectioned off area where you can, and the rest of the place is an open zone. If you're scared of fish or jelly blubbers then maybe stick to an enclosed pool or learn to conquer that because this place has all sorts of sea life swimming through.
I don't mind the payment fee of entry as it's so small, but I think where this place truly loses a star for me was a negative experience I had recently with one of the lifeguards. Some grotty highschool kids were there and started picking the jelly blubbers out of the water and started pelting them at each other, throwing them outside the water. When I spoke to one of the guards about it he simply dismissed it on the fact that he said he used to do the same thing when he was younger. Honestly it was really disgusting. Such a defensive and dismissive attitude towards destructive behaviour towards sea life, of whose environment we inhabit by swimming in the ocean, is unacceptable, especially from someone like a lifeguard who should care about sea creatures. There's also the fact that if you do go when there are even one loud group, EVERYONE is going to know about it, as due to the walls and pavement, the noise...

Read moreI had high hopes for Dawn Fraser Baths, but unfortunately, it was a major letdown. The place is filthy, and the water has a terrible smellâlike rotting fish. Itâs supposed to be a relaxing spot, but instead, I found myself dodging stingrays and dealing with murky water filled with debris.
The overall cleanliness of the facility is seriously lacking. The sand and walkways felt unkempt, and there was an overwhelming stench coming from the water, which made the whole experience unpleasant. If you're looking for a nice swim, this is NOT the...
