We were excited to have dinner at Rita’s for a while now. Unfortunately, certainly not worth the prices. The Greek bread was fresh and was possibly one the best things we ate that night. The pasta was dry and tasteless. We had multiple staff wait on us. The first one was friendly but didn’t quite know what was on the menu or may have been new. We asked her about options for non alcoholic drinks and she wasn’t able to list even those without confusing herself. You could tell that she was at least trying and we hope she gets more training because that’s what she seemed to lack. Not her fault. The show stealer for the night was a very stern looking staff member who took our mains order and seemed least interested in our order and talking to us nicely. She had a distinct condescending tone and we had to finally ask her “Is there a problem?” To which she responded that “is just that the food isn’t enough!”. We could not even finish our dinner. We had 3 entrees and 2 mains and a salad and that’s apparently not enough for 2 people. It was a confusing and disappointing night. We live in the area but certainly not coming back. Sorry.

We have been to the cat and fiddle a few times since it’s reopened to enjoy a casual drink. The pub is great and has a great atmosphere. More recently we decided to try the restaurant. The service in the restaurant was great but the food didn’t back it up sadly. The menu selection felt a little lacking especially in the way of veggies even as a side plate option. My partner chose to just stick to the classic chicken parmi as it felt like a good go to option. This was the chicken parmi. We were unsure if mozzarella comes in slices but for a restaurant with a pizza menu u would have thought this wouldn’t be the best choice of cheese to use. They are a new establishment and it’s been a difficult time so I do understand if this may have been a momentary lapse but hopefully something they’ll improve on...

I came for their pot pie but sadly they were sold out for the day. Fortunately they have excellent other delicious options available. Front: Fish of the day (Ocean Trout). Back: Fish and chips. Middle: Vesuvio pizza. Fish of the day had a beautiful crispy skin, smooth potato salad, a dollop of beautifuly tasty mayonnaise and side. I love the fresh take on Fish and chips, not greasy, light fresh flavor. Do away with the take away Fish and chips, you can't be disappointed with this version. Their woodfire pizza was light, full of flavor and never soggy. The dough was nice and crisp, all the things you want in a woodfire pizza. Top this with a fresh cold beer and it's a fantastic way to spend a nice Sunday afternoon. I'll definitely be back. I can't wait.
