Beautiful place for meditation and the tea house was great. However, we had an incidence today that prompted us to leave.
We had planned to spend our day in the garden and have breakfast at their tea house so we arrived before they opened. We were just waiting outside the gate when a kid pulled it open. We then realised it wasn't even locked. It was almost 9:30 anyway and so my boyfriend and I went in. I must admit I was hesitant because I didn't wanna cause any trouble but he didn't see any problem with it. They already opened the parking lot and it was just 3 minutes before opening time. When we were in, a female caretaker spotted us, gave a sarcastic smile and said "I would have appreciated it if you had waited for me to open the gate." Defensively my boyfriend replied, "Im sorry. We got in because it wasn't even locked and we thought it was okay." She didnt like what she heard and so she came up towards us (quite aggressively)and said "You should be thankful this is a free garden." There was an exchange of words but I already started heading out. I didn't wanna be there anymore and my boyfriend felt the same. It pretty much ruined our mood and so we decided to go somewhere else and probably never return. I'm not saying what we did was justifiable but had she reacted differently, we would still have spent our day there and have a good time. I know it sucks working on a saturday in a FREE garden and I admit that we shouldn't have got in but her negativity was totally unnecessary. I don't think we'd...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLocated at 104R President Avenue, Caringbah South, New South Wales, Australia š¦šŗ These are such beautiful gardens. They are over 50 years old. I didnāt know it existed before today and to say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. It was so beautiful to wander through the flora and fauna and look at all the beautiful flowers and trees and other different ornaments was so lovely. Thereās great parking š æļø available but I imagine on the weekends it would be quite crowded and the parking would fill quite quickly. Thereās a great little cafe at the top of the gardens called āThe Jade Teahouseā. We didnāt go there but it looked nice. The walking paths are quite easy to follow but if you have mobility issues or in a wheelchair š¦¼, you could have an issue as there are quite a lot of stairs and the gardens are on a sometimes steep, sloping site. Both the top and bottom parts of the garden are accessible but the winding paths and stairs in the middle separate these parts. Thereās a small childrenās playground next to the cafe, itās a little dated but still good for the children to enjoy. Thereās good toilet š» facilities also, the accessible toilets are next to the lower entrance. Thereās an abundance of wildlife around the garden and I loved the small bridges and the gazeboās. Itās FREE to enter the gardens and FREE parking. The Gardens open Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 4.00pm On Saturday and Sunday from 9.30am to 5.30pm I would definitely recommend these Gardens. Thumbs Up from...
