A Local Gem: North Narrabeen Rockpool and Surrounds The North Narrabeen Rockpool is undoubtedly one of the crown jewels of Sydney's Northern Beaches, offering a stunning and well-maintained slice of coastal heaven. Located picturesquely at the entrance to Narrabeen Lagoon, it caters to both serious swimmers and leisurely splashers, making it a perfect destination for all ages. The Rockpool Experience The pool itself is famously divided by an original timber boardwalk (dating back to the 1930s!), separating the main 50-metre lap pool from a shallower wading area. This setup is brilliant, ensuring dedicated lap swimmers have clear lanes while families can safely enjoy the rest of the ocean-fed water. Highlights of the Rockpool: Clean and Maintained: Reviewers consistently praise its cleanliness and good maintenance. Family-Friendly: The segregated wading area and the numerous small natural rock pools surrounding the main pool are a huge hit with curious kids looking to spot sea creatures. Photogenic: It's an iconic spot, particularly popular with photographers capturing stunning sunrises and sunsets over the ocean and headland. Facilities: Amenities include change rooms, showers, and toilets nearby, along with a café/kiosk close to the car park. Night Swimming: The pool is equipped with night lights, perfect for a cool evening dip once the daytime crowds have dispersed. A quick tip: Parking is pay-and-display and can be busy, especially on a sunny day or during school holidays, so arriving early is highly recommended. Nearby Attractions The beauty of North Narrabeen extends far beyond the rockpool, with a wealth of coastal and lagoon activities right on its doorstep. 1. Narrabeen Beach (and the famous surf break) Right next to the rockpool is North Narrabeen Beach, part of a long stretch of golden sand that is world-renowned for its consistent and quality surf break. It's designated a National Surfing Reserve, drawing surfers from all over. Even if you don't surf, the beach is perfect for sunbathing, beach walks, and watching the professionals carve up the waves. 2. Narrabeen Lagoon Directly opposite the beach and rockpool entrance is the beautiful Narrabeen Lagoon. This protected waterway is a hub for calm-water activities and a fantastic change of scenery from the ocean. Activities: You can hire kayaks, stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), or simply enjoy the tranquil waters for a paddle, fish, or swim in the protected area near the entrance. Narrabeen Lagoon Trail: A huge drawcard is the 8.6 km (5.3 miles) multi-use trail that loops all the way around the foreshore, perfect for cycling, jogging, or a scenic bushwalk. It’s a great way to explore the local ecosystem and wildlife. 3. Scenic Headland Walks For breathtaking coastal views, a short walk up to Narrabeen Headland is a must. The trails offer stunning vantage points looking north toward Warriewood and south over Collaroy, including popular sections of the Bicentennial walking track. A recommendation is the walk towards Wedding Lookout for a spectacular vista. Overall Verdict North Narrabeen Rockpool and its surroundings offer a quintessential Northern Beaches experience. The combination of a top-tier, historic ocean pool, a world-class surf beach, and the peaceful, activity-filled lagoon makes this area an exceptional coastal destination that provides diverse options for a full day out or a relaxing retreat. Highly recommended for swimmers, surfers, families, and nature lovers alike!

Picturesque rockpool located on Narrabeen Headland where South Creek meets the Pacific Ocean. The rockpool is accessed by foot from either Turrimetta or North Narrabeen Beaches, or from the designated ticketed carpark off Narrabeen Park Parade with a 280m walk to the pools. The rockpool itself contains a main lap pool (50m long x 15m wide) which is segregated by a timber boardwalk. There is also an amenities block with change rooms, showers and toilets on site and a café located at the entrance to the designated carpark. If you don’t like to pay ridiculous amounts of parking fees and don’t mind a walk up to 1km at most, I would suggest parking in either Peal Place in Warriewood to the north, or to the west of North Narrabeen SLSC in the back streets for free all day parking. Great location to watch and photograph sunsets and also has a massive rock shelf with pools to the north for the kids.

Absolutely gorgeous rock pool on the Northern beaches. You should anticipate paying for parking if you are not a resident, but is well with it. There is also a large area where you can play in little rock pools at low tide, though caution is advised to be aware of waves and keeping a safe distance from the cliff. Great for families and brilliant views of the beaches.

I love this place, it's so perfect many people come here's to swim of course as you do but some prefer to walk around the edge to the platform, u can see some are nervous don't worry at one stage or another we've all fallen in. U may feel a bit soggy but it's part of the learning kerb Several people have photos here engagement wedding.i come down here to think. Must admit listening to the little mermaid on iPod while down here makes u want to sing part of your world at the top of your lungs. Don't worry I won't i've been told my high notes are um not good

The best memory I have of this place was when my dog gate crashed a wedding by going up to the bridesmaid in the wheel chair for a pat. Not sure if it was the same girl in the wheel chair that used to hug him but he went to her all the same She was so thrilled by him that she gave him a flower, that totally made his day he looked so cute with the flower in his collar that he struted all...
