Very poor quality Shuk.

It came out lukewarm and the toast was cold, the butter didn’t stand a chance … some say it is still unmelted now.

The sauce needs to be improved in so many ways, it lakes acidity, spice and any flavour.

It was just like a tomato slop.

Salt and pepper would be a good start, you could also add butter as a cheat code into the sauce which is an easy fix for saltiness and flavour.

Then the sauce needs more tomato paste or even some form of vinegar to give it some bite.

There was barely any cheese on it, to the point where you may as well not put it on. Shame because the last shuk I had here had way more cheese on it.

The coriander is a great option, but it needs to be cut up so it is in edible portions. (Refer to figure 1)

The eggs were just separately poached and then just plopped on top, that sucks. The whole point is to cook the eggs in the sauce to infuse the flavour.

Service was pretty bad as well, the lady started opening the sliding outside door and without saying anything just stared at my partner to move - weird.

Also no offer of salt or pepper when the waiter dropped off the meals. Unfortunately really needs it.

Hopefully this can be passed on to the chef’s because there are some glowing reviews about the food generally - might have just gone on a bad day.

I’ll be returning to hopefully review a lovely shuk.

The pricing also seems a bit excessive for tinned tomatoes, a few eggs and not enough spices....

Popped in for a takeaway B&E roll and OJ after a few laps down at the pool. It was a Public Holiday so knew I was going to get hit with the surcharge but was blown away when told the price was going to be $30+ with the freshOJ being $13.50 🤯.

They must have an organic orange tree growing out the back with a team of dedicated oompa loompa’s who tend to it 24/7 to ensure only the best of the best oranges are shortlisted to grace the inside of Girdlers fresh OJ glass, then I could maybe understand their rationale for their pricing but as this might only be a reality inside my head I couldn’t justify the cost and cancelled the OJ. Now I’m sure we will get a response about rising supply chain cost and a worldwide shortage of crushable oranges due to rising water tides in Equatorial Guinea but I’ll do my teeth a favour and stick with the free tap water…..oh shit, that now opens a whole other can of worms….damn.

B&E Roll was pretty damn good though, just wished they had hash brown option as it deserved it.

Tough one if I’d go back or not, probably not as there are a number of options a short walk away but that’s...

It’s a nice little cafe right next to the carpark. Unfortunately it was a waste of time visiting. I went at around 12.45pm with not a lot of people and asked for a take away for two crepes and two matcha latte.

Had I been warned that it’d be a 45 mins wait, I would have just ordered the matcha latte and move on.

My lattes were done in less than 10 mins and they offered to put it in the fridge and said “the food will take a while”.

Well… I didn’t expect to still be at the cafe at 1.30pm until I finally approached them and asked to cancel my order if they still have got to it. Note, there were still not a lot of people!!!

One of the lady before me hadn’t gotten her food when I left and she was extremely annoyed.

Unfortunately can’t rate the plant ha latte as it had been so diluted… the crepe was meh.

Wouldn’t ever return again and I’d warn those people visiting the beach to steer clear if you want to be wasting your time sitting at the cafe for...

This is my new favourite spot! We love the Girdlers brand, and I used to frequent the Manly location - but I was delighted to hear when they opened just down the road from me in North Narrabeen! As a freelancer, Girdlers North Narra is my favourite little working space on a Thursday morning. The staff are friendly and gorgeous, the food and coffee is always consistently delicious, and I just love the sweet location - right across the road from the beach which is stunning all year long - and my favourite; you can always parking right out the front! There are often Mother's Groups in here because it's also very family friendly. I bring my kids here on the weekend for a healthy smoothie after a Scoot, and if we have visiting the Northern Beaches it's always a place we bring them - the venue and food are very Instagram worth! Xx
