The Scenic Skyway is a popular cable car experience located in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, Australia. Suspended high above the Jamison Valley, it offers passengers a breathtaking, panoramic view of some of the region’s most iconic natural landmarks, including the Three Sisters rock formation, Katoomba Falls, and the expansive rainforest canopy below.

What sets the Scenic Skyway apart is its fully enclosed glass cabin with a transparent floor, providing a thrilling sensation of floating mid-air at a height of approximately 270 meters (885 feet) above the valley floor. The journey spans 720 meters (2,362 feet), traveling between Skyway East Station near Echo Point and the West Station at Scenic World, allowing visitors to witness the dramatic cliffs and waterfalls from a unique perspective.

The ride lasts just a few minutes but delivers an unforgettable visual experience that highlights the geological beauty and natural wonder of the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. It is suitable for people of all ages and is wheelchair accessible, making it a family-friendly attraction.

In addition to the visual spectacle, the Scenic Skyway provides educational commentary on the region’s natural history and Indigenous heritage. The attraction operates year-round and is a part of Scenic World, which also includes the Scenic Railway, Scenic Cableway, and Scenic Walkway—all designed to offer immersive access to the area's stunning wilderness.

Great afternoon out. Beautiful scenery. Cost is average for adults buy online before you arrive much quicker no lining up. Concession and family passes unavailable. Bring a camera. On windy days bring a wind jacket. Bring a hat and comfortable shoes. Two paths for disabled people quite a lovely walk through below. One longer walk for non disabled. Good history reading points along thr track also entrance to National park if this walk isnt challenging or long enough i found it quite an easy stroll. Railway is extremerly fun put a smile on my friends face and the reactions from everyone was quite enjoyable. Skyway is beautiful especially the glass floor in the inside strip. Cable way was a quick ride back up the top on an angle. The only drawback would be the waiting in line especially since you get off the cableway and need to get off and line up to return which is quite silly really people who wish to return immediately should be allowed to stay on and cross back over as there is no shelter in the hot sun only fans with mist. Hense the bring a hat. In all it was a pleasant afternoon out we got a very clear day was very lucky to see the views very happy will bring...

A fantastic mini adventure awaits at Katoomba Canyon, where you descend 300m into a stunning rainforest filled with Australian history. Surprisingly wheelchair accessible, this experience is on the pricier side but well worth it. The short train ride, the steepest in the world, feels like a thrilling rollercoaster, while the two cable car rides offer breathtaking views of the Blue Mountains. The Skyway, with its glass floor in the middle, ensures a great view even if you’re not at the sides. We spent about 4 hours here, exploring the scenic walkways at the bottom and enjoying the beauty of the rainforest. The Dinosaur Valley walk, which takes about 30 minutes, was a hit with the kids thanks to the animatronic dinosaurs. The cable car ride back up provided a perfect end to this unforgettable adventure. A must-visit when in the Blue Mountains!
