SCENIC WORLD - KATOOMBA, BLUE MOUNTAINS NSW I bought an all day pass, only $55 concession ($62 Adults) which I thought was an extremely good price for a perfect day out. If you buy tickets online in advance, you jump the queue. The ticket gave me unlimited rides on the three cable ride attractions. Not only that the scenery is STUNNING‼️🤩 Having a disability and needing a walking stick, I got Disability Parking within meters of the entrance. The staff were extremely helpful with the few steps that I needed to use. There is a lift to go between the 3 floors so it’s not only wheelchair friendly but also pram friendly for families with little ones. They helped me on and off the rides and they even got me a chair for the waiting line which only took about 10 minutes. The Skyway, which takes you across the top of the valley had absolutely beautiful views, especially of the three sisters and the waterfall, where they stop the car so you can take photos, was amazing. The newest Cable Way, takes you from the top of the valley to the opposite side of the bottom of the valley, where you can then enjoy the beautiful boardwalks all through the lush rainforest. There are plenty of seats around the walkway. I didn’t go far but what I did see was absolutely beautiful with plenty of lovely birds and wildlife. Then, of course, there’s the famous Cable Car Train that goes straight down the cliff - I hadn’t been here for 28 years and I had forgotten how steep it was and especially the pitch black tunnel.I tried to hold onto everything but I lost my walking stick, which went flying!! ha ha ha. It was retrieved though at the other end of the carriage! I plan on visiting Echo Point Lookout, just a few km’s drive away, where I can see the three sisters closer up in a couple of days time while I’m on my holiday here. This tourist attraction is one of the best places I’ve visited in years. I highly recommend it for all ages. It is especially disabled friendly, and great for the kids, very reasonably priced with a beautiful Souvenir shop and Café overlooking the valley. It’s definitely worth the day out. I have a beautiful collection of photos now and some happy...
Read moreWe went to Katoomba for a walk, picked the walk down to the lower cableway station. What a beautiful walk, highly recommend to get to the “under the waterfall” route, it’s spectacular.
My review is so low not for the trails, those are all 5 stars. My review is for the rip-off prices for the cableway.
To get up, which is 3 minute ride costed us $128 for 2 people, which were not discounted for the one way ride, and they with the innocent face forced us to buy a “day pass” which we can’t care less about, as we just did the walk, wanted to get up and leave.
The kicker, is that you buy your tickets on the exit with only this option and the double the price option for $240 for a year pass.
So, here’s my feedback about the public holiday pricing for everyday...
Read moreExperiencing the Blue Mountains was truly an amazing adventure that I thoroughly enjoyed. The primary reason for my love of this place is the breathtaking natural view that surrounds you at every turn. The fresh air is invigorating and refreshing, making it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. However, the only downside I encountered was the large crowds that flock to this popular destination. This results in long queues at every cableway, which can be a bit frustrating for those looking to enjoy a seamless experience. Despite this minor inconvenience, the beauty and tranquility of the Blue Mountains make it a...
