Tathra Lookout offers one of the most stunning panoramic views along the Sapphire Coast. Perched above the beautiful Tathra Beach, the lookout provides breathtaking vistas over the endless ocean, golden sands, and the charming township of Tathra.

The location is easy to access with convenient parking nearby, and a short walk takes you straight to the viewing area. The lookout is particularly spectacular at sunrise and sunset when the sky is painted with vibrant colors. It's a peaceful spot perfect for photography, a quiet break during a road trip, or simply soaking in the coastal beauty.

There are benches where you can sit and enjoy the scenery, and the area is well maintained. If you're lucky, during whale season (roughly May to November), you might even spot whales migrating along the coast.

A truly beautiful old and historic wharf that sits overlooking the scenic waters of Tathra beach. While the wharf serves no functional or commercial use these days it once had a critical role in local shipping for the local population dating back to the 1860's. And included the shipping of agriculture, timber, livestock and general goods.

Unfortunately the wharf fell into disrepair when the shipping trade declined due to improved roads to the area and shipping ceased in the late 1950's.

If it wasn't for the efforts of the Tathra Wharf Action Group and the Tathra Wharf Trust the wharf would have been lost.

Today it is an appealing tourist attraction and a great spot for...

A lovely coastal location in the footsteps of Bega. The trip from Coma is a sealed road, which is a main route for many trucks. Brown Mountain is a challenge, and all patient drivers will enjoy it. The heavy vehicles frequent this route and are polite road users. After passing through Bega, it's a short drive to this family-friendly location with a patroled beech. A walk across the memorial park takes in lovely oceanianic views with steps down to the warf. There are significant temperature changes from Brown Mountain to the coast, meaning it's wise to dress warm and change once at the beach. It's an easy drive for the patient driver, capable of a return day trip from...

One of the Tathra places to visit. Lovely in the late afternoon. People fish off the wharf. There are public toilets, cafe, and a wharf museum which is open on weekends. Take the moderately steep, but comfortable walking trail a few hundred metres to the spectacular Tathra Headland - and keep walking to Chamberlain Lookout, Kianiny Bay, and further onto the Kangarutha Walking Track if you're keen.

The area is currently undergoing a revamp, (12/12/19) there is temporary fencing in place to ensure public safety while the work is taking place. The wharf lookout is still open but access to a complete circuit of the pathway from the car park is restricted. The view of the wharf is awesome and well worth a visit. The views over the cliffs out to sea are stunning.
