If you enjoy an informal, lively, eatery this is for you.
Drift is exactly what you’d hope for from a restaurant in a quiet costal town: some quieter indoor dining tables (though being a small space it gets louder as it fills) and a more relaxed outdoor area. The outdoor area even features a TV where we saw a group of rugged up kids enjoying a show whilst their folks closed out a pleasant holiday evening.
In town for quiet getaway we walked past last night finding it this a bustling hive of activity. To be sure we got a seat I phoned early today to make a reservation. Though we needn’t have the inside tables filled quickly, and I can imagine over a busy summer reservations would be essential to dine in. Note: takeaway is however possible.
Ordering is at the counter, with meals delivered to your table. The wine selection is better than decent, and the traditional Italian wood fired pizzas rival anything we’ve enjoyed elsewhere.
The only con if I was being particular was for that our meals came out at separate times, even though I specifically asked if all be served together when ordering.
Great little spot for a relaxed holiday...

After 10 minutes, we assumed we had to get menus ourselves and order at the counter (would have been good to tell us this on arrival). We ordered pizzas- one for each couple. One arrived after 20 minutes, the other 15 minutes after that. So we watched each other eat. No plates or cutlery, but we did spy a little water station where we could grab some napkins to use as plates. The pizzas were good. Our order for coffees and dessert was lost, eventually refunded, and we left. So close to being a really good restaurant, hope when we return...

I came into Tathra just after the sun had fully set, but there's an energy to thia place that's hugs you as you drive into town and it's shown in the people I've met at this restaurant.
Between the fantastic service, great selection and quality of food and beverages and atmosphere that feels like home; that relaxed, casual and just "be" kind of atmosphere and had a great yarn with the owner, Dan, a great bloke.
Being someone that's predominantly vegan, was happy to see at least one vegan option for the pizza, which was delicious and a woodfired crust that doesn't bloat.
Here's my Arny moment...
