If you're Shania Twain type operator who ain't impressed by much, get ready to have your socks BLOWN off. The sheer size of the prawn is probably on par with the colossas of Rhodes or the hanging gardens of Babylon (flexing my rich historical knowledge, soz) and it has an immense awe inspiring presence. Just the big fibreglass crustacean- like a scene out of MiB. We spent more time contemplating why it is there than the 4 min to take the obligatory selfie. Is it because Ballina has nothing to draw people off the highway? Is it because the shrimp in Ballina are huge? (Check out the fisherman's coop 2 min drive down the road for best cooked giant shrimp). Or is it to ward off evil oceanic spirits? More questions than answers.
