Westower Tavern — Restaurant in New South Wales

I recently visited this club and had a highly disappointing experience with both the staff and the service. While using a pokies machine, it malfunctioned and shut down, leaving us unable to access the money remaining in the machine. We called a staff member to resolve the issue and simply requested to retrieve our remaining cash. The first lady we spoke with told us she would reset the machine and hoped it would work, but if it didn’t, we were advised to return the following morning. Unfortunately, due to work commitments, we explained that we couldn’t return the next day and requested the issue be resolved immediately.

Instead of addressing our concerns, another staff member came over, was incredibly rude, and even threatened to call the police without listening to our side of the issue. We were calm and polite throughout, and the security footage would clearly show that we were merely requesting a resolution. To make matters worse, one of the staff members attempted to take back our beers, which we had paid for but hadn’t finished yet.

This experience was, without a doubt, the worst I’ve had at any venue. The staff displayed an utter lack of professionalism and basic customer service skills. We’ve visited other clubs in similar situations, where any malfunction with pokies machines is promptly addressed, and customers are given the cash owed to them. However, at this venue, the staff were dismissive and showed no interest in resolving the issue.

I hope this feedback encourages the management to train their staff in proper customer service and conflict resolution, as no one should be treated with such disrespect when...

The Westower was very good very convenient to where im staying. The Tavern is of medium size with indoor and outdoor seating all with social distancing of 1.2m. The menu is varied steak, Chicken Schnitzel , salad and Pizza . We ordered the Mediterranean pizza with no eggplant the large one it was a very nice pizza i quite enjoyed it. We had some slices left over and they were happy to give us a pizza box to take it home and i can report the pizza box fits into the hotel mini bar fridge yay! The Salad with Chicken and Avocado i tried a sample of would also be satisfying the chicken was kinda roasted and sweet tasting the Avo was fresh. The wait times are long 45mins we ordered a Garlic bread as a starter it was sizeable bread to have it didn’t take long to come. Friendly onsite staff who come around to check on their patrons, you must register name phone number at reception for contact tracing. I would choose the Westower tavern if your staying in the hotels near it if you have no rented car or personal car and want to save on a taxi ride, public transport like buses is limited to the day there might be the odd bus at evenings but considering the time for meal prep of 45mins you will be cutting it fine for the bus.so this tavern is more of local thing. Lastly there is children’s playground its closed for the time being during covid19, a TAB and bar stools section that can cater for quiet allot of sports mad fans, there is projector and projector screen in the bistro for major sporting and events. The toilets and restrooms are very modern very nice with Dyson hand dryers plenty of parking available with onsite...

So Good We Came Back Twice!

During our holiday, we had the pleasure of dining at Westower tavern, and it was so exceptional that we had to return for a second visit. From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic meal.

Every dish we ordered was cooked to absolute perfection. The fish of the day with the mango salad was rich, flavorful and melted in my mouth, while the scotch fillet steak was cooked to perfection it tasted like a $100 piece of wagyu 👌🏽 Every bite was a delight, showcasing high-quality ingredients and expert preparation. My kids had the pizza kids meal, they said it was the best pizza they’ve had they also ordered that twice

The service was just as outstanding as the food—friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to ensure we had the best experience. It’s rare to find a place where every detail, from presentation to flavour, is spot on, but westower tavern delivered on all fronts.

If you’re looking for top-notch pub food in a welcoming setting, this is the place to be. We’ll be dreaming about our meals here until we can return.
