It’s a bit of a hike from the parking area to the beach via the various pathways, through overgrown vegetation and uneven ground, it’s approximately 800metres but it feels so much longer, beach is beautiful but unfortunately the day I was visiting I spent more time collecting rubbish and broken bottles from near the picnic tables but otherwise this beach is nice.

Always a lovely beach to walk the dogs in the off leash area or catch a sunrise. The locals and the surfers are all friendly. Wish the fisherpeople could clean up after themselves a bit more but other than that, it's great to relax here. Always choose the end of the beach with the surf life club though if you are not a strong swimmer or if you have kids.

Nice beach get in early as the car park is small if you coming through surf club parking. Went there to fish came up empty handing considering we had all the bait to other disposal and lures. Went in a bright sunny day also beach can be rough so always swim between the flags good for surfers though as the waves are always pumping.

Windang Beach, located approximately 15 kilometers south of Wollongong’s city center, is a serene coastal destination that offers a blend of natural beauty and family-friendly amenities. Nestled at the entrance to Lake Illawarra, this beach provides picturesque views of the Five Islands Nature Reserve, making it a popular spot for both relaxation and recreation.

The beach features golden sands and gentle waves, ideal for swimming and sunbathing. However, swimmers are advised to stay between the flags due to occasional strong rips, especially near the entrance to Lake Illawarra. Surfers can enjoy consistent right and left-hand breaks, making it a favored spot for both beginners and experienced surfers.

Adjacent to the beach is the Windang Foreshore Park, a spacious area equipped with a playground, sheltered picnic spots, barbecues, and a shared cycle path, catering to families and outdoor enthusiasts. While dogs are not permitted on the main beach, a designated off-leash area is available to the north.

For visitors seeking accommodation, the Windang Beach Tourist Park offers a range of options, including cabins and camping sites, all set against the backdrop of both the lake and the ocean.

Whether you’re looking to surf, picnic, or simply unwind by the sea, Windang Beach provides a tranquil and accessible...
