Important warning for SNOWBOARDERS!

To make it fare first, I would first say that the resort has a lot of pistes and lifts, it also has great views and friendly staff.

But the biggest disadvantage in my opinion is the suitability of the resort for snowboarding. Which unfortunately we didn’t take into account when we planned the trip, we saw really high rating in skiresort app and relatively close to the Munich airport where we have a direct flight. So from logistic perspective- it was good.

But - in the first days we notice that the ration between skiers and snowboarders is really weird. Probably like 90% of riders, are ski riders. In the begging we wasn’t sure why. But after we checked many many slopes there, I can say that the most of the slopes - aren’t suitable for snowboarding. They have a lot of flat or even elevated areas in the middle of red and blue pistes. For example the slope 20, which you can see in the picture claims to be “the best” has 3 areas in the middle when we literally needed to take the board off and walk…

Also added few pics to show that the views are indeed great.

So if you’re a skier - it’s good for you. But if you are a snowboarder - I don’t recommend it, you should go to the mayrhofen instead or some French alps resorts (Val Thorens, Tignes,...

Beginners and intermediates, stay away. The grading of runs is very questionable, many of the blues were more tricky and challenging than reds elsewhere and some blues lead to red runs with no alternative. For experienced skiers (comfortable on red, black...)this is a great resort with lots of variety and great fun parks and jumps. The main problem is that some runs marked blue would be red anywhere else and signage at lifts is terrible, instead of informing what slopes are accessible from lifts or intersections a map of the 284km of slopes is displayed. To compound the issue some of the lift operators don’t seem to know the grading of the runs at their lifts. A number of times this resulted in our group of mixed experience levels having to navigate unsuitable runs. Suggestions for improvement: Grade slopes accurately. Improve signage at lifts and at intersections. Ensure blue runs end at lifts and are confidence building(not...

A great resort but please be aware of the dangers whilst skiing here. Earlier this year I was skiing in Soll and I hit a 2kg piece of metal that was a tooth from a piste basher, it was just lying in the middle of the piste from the night before. I was doing about 30kph when I hit the debris and I flew through the air landing on my shoulder and had to be taken by skidoo down the mountain. My skis were ruined which I had to pay for and despite getting in touch with the company that manages the ski area nothing was done for me. I still cant sleep on one side even after almost 4 months. There were 2 large bolt fixings on this piece of steel and so both must have been loose for it to fall off. Please be very careful, it is a great resort but clearly the company that manages the slopes are not checking and maintaining their vehicles safely. I dread to think what could have happened if a small child had fallen on this huge...

We started at Brixen and had booked with Skibus Munich. The resort is very huge and has multiple sections. The slopes are very good and long. The only downside was that the brixen side was very crowded (weekend with good weather). But you should be able to find some section with fewer people and enjoy the skiing. The views of Wilder Kaiser was amazing! Some of the slopes (especially Talabfahrt) became un-skiable by mid day but that's probably because of the huge number of people. I'm looking forward to return during quieter days to explore skiwelt further!

Great ski area and despite the busy holiday season we did not experience long waiting times at the ski lifts. The area is big, around 290km of ski slopes. There is something for everyone I guess. And it is always magical to ski between trees. Downsides; lifts are mostly a bit older and that’s especially apparent when it is a colder day and you have to wait longer and sit in an open chair lift. Other downside for the future might be that t is not a area with lots of slopes that are above 2.000m. It has to be a snowy winter to be safe on the snow side.
