Käptn Hook — Attraction in Saalbach-Hinterglemm

Big pool, with 3 slides.. well maintained and clean water.. however with not enough lifeguards and safety not taken seriously.

On visiting only saw one lifeguard, who was not obvious (no easy to see uniform etc). Kids climbing up the slides whilst others coming down as not policed appropriately. Major accident waiting to happen and on visiting, other visitor got into difficultly (drouning) and others helped him to the side (no lifeguard in sight), when they rushed to reception to get an ambulance, the member of staff dismissed the request and continued to serve another customer... Shocking. Thankfully it sounds like the visitor who got into trouble seems to be okay... Close call.. next time they might not be so lucky... We visited on a sunny Sunday in July. It doesn't look much from the outside but is really quite expansive, with plenty to keep you occupied and amazing views. The slides and lazy river were great fun for both the adults and the children. The pool and surrounding area were very clean and well looked after. There's a separate pool just for swimming too. Free entry with the joker card - we couldn't quite believe we didn't have to pay! Think it's around 10Eur per person otherwise which is still pretty good. The only criticism - and we found the same in the leisure centre pool in Zell am See - was a complete lack of lifeguards on duty. 2017 Great place, very clean and tidy. Pools and slides are fantastic, my only criticism would be that the woman on reception is not very nice she made us feel very unwelcome. 2018 So we are here again...as before fantastic place, the life guard is great very friendly and professional but again the cashier an old man this time was even worse than the woman from last year. Very very abusive, aggressive and just angry. This is a place of fun for children and adults alike but after a great day this man made by son cry. So last year 5 stars...this year 3 stars....
