Marathon Mall — Attraction in New Providence

Overall great (better) shopping. The mall itself gives off "Sawgrass". My Kelly's trip wasn't ample which is rare. Stood in an aisle waiting for help, told a worker who sent a second set of shoppers to also wait for him or another worker. When they finally came, they bi-passed us and the other customers to help another set of customers (young ladies) while we all just looked on baffled. The ladies tried to leave when done and the staff I guess rebelling from our speaking out about our confusion, asked them where they were going and not to leave. He continued to give extended unwarranted assistance while the now very full aisle of customers were in the screw boxes just helping themselves. Customers were trying to help each other. A young man (customer) helped us. Finally two other workers came, they were good I wish I took their names (two short young fellows, the first rude one was tall and dark). When I was finally leaving the store, I observed the first worker heading back in from the car of the customers he was assisting, which means he waited with them on the cash-out counter (very extreme, spiteful behavior). Had I been those customers I would have felt uneasy about his actions but.....youth. My monthly bank statement always has a few trips to Kelly's. Thought the taste was sour on this trip, it was for the individual not the store so I still gave 5 stars (I will NEVER ask for his help). I'm on a facial recognition basis with most of the workers especially in Paint......HEY PAINT SECTION YOU GUYS...

The Mall is wonderful and clean. My experience at the Food Court was my worse this time. I stopped at the first spot entering from Body Beautiful for a coke. They had no ice and suggested Double Dragon, a cup for 50c. I paid for, was tempted and bought good looking egg rolls as well. The cashier served them to me. Actually all the food displayed looked extremely tempting! I went where directed for the cup of ice. I stood in line behind 3 persons. They were served. My turn! I waited and waited some more then some.. About tapping my nails on the counter time to get noticed by the lady who decided she'd spend the time cleaning and recleaning her drinks station since no food orders and drinks required by her at that time. Looking at me a few times in between. About to lose my temper, another older assistant came close, she then asked her, "wha she waitin fo"? Really? My receipt was on the counter waiting to be looked at for 5 minutes while I felt invisible! I pointed out ice!! She got it and shoved it at me! A spot I was tempted to return to totally spoiled by extremely 1 bad customer...

Amazing how this is considered a Mall, since a kid travel back and forth, long story short, this is some "Mall" in contrast to Mall of America, Tyson Corner Center, etc. Its like a interconnected mini plaza in my opinion. Convenient when you are paying your essentials in bills, quite tedious after an hour due to in activities. Also worked there for a year and dear God it's not a 6teen experience with the music and people and businesses and stores that constantly closes down due to a lot of malefactors they could've used in data for the market. I wish they would've upgrade it more as if its a reconstruction of a hub center or something. Malls are becoming extinct and I wouldn't recommend anyone to attempt to maintain or open up shop in this place since times have changed. There's not a souvenir or anything worth buying like that. Its immaculate, can be a bit more oriented, and a nice...
