Keramis Center of Ceramics — Attraction in La Louvière

Excellently presented, huge collection of ceramics covering a large period of time and representing uncountable style and fashion. A treat for the eyes. Since there are construction works all around the building, it't best to park your car at the Delhaize parking and walk to the entrance. We visited the place on a Saturday afternoon and there were NO other visitors besides us... Welcoming reception, cafe, great architecture. Museum shop is interesting...

This used to be a very important center of manufacture of ceramics. The museum building contains three impressive old kilns, a depot exhibition with explanations of how industrial ceramics are made, and a small permanent exhibition with mostly Art Nouveau ceramics. The museum has temporary...

2017 Het museum zelf was top inclusief een top rondleiding van een zeer gemotiveerde vrouwelijke gids. Een rondleiding in het Nederlands wat erg prettig was. Helaas was de horeca een ramp, en hebben we een half uur moeten wachten op een kop koffie. Dit omdat de organisatie volledig ontbrak en men niet opgewassen bleek tegen één groep van 50 personen die vooraf gereserveerd hadden.

Aanvulling 2019 Inmiddels twee jaar later is het museum nog steeds interessant en ook de tijdelijke tentoonstelling steeds weer een trekker. De horeca blijft wel een punt van zorg. Bediening vriendelijk maar zwaar tekort komend bij een grotere aanloop. Naar mijn mening draagt en goed functionerende horeca uitermate bij aan de waardering voor het geheel. Je eet en drinkt nog wat een maakt er zo een dagje uit van. Nu hollen we naar buiten om nog ergens wat te eten en te drinken....
