January 2025: amazing lighthouse - the whole experience. Few tourists, off season, perfect for a relaxed visit with no queues and lots of time to walk up and walk around the top. It has a phenomenal view. Careful - don't have loose clothes, loose hat or phone - the wind is so strong up there but lots of fun! It's incredible that you can casually go up and be so close to the mechanics of a real lighthouse. So interesting. The gentleman in the shop was very informative and helpful. And the prices, as the other reviews have said, were incredibly great value. We walked out with a bag full of lovely Bermudian goodies. Access: good but there are a lot of steps up a narrow spiral staircase. If it's busy, this may feel claustrophobic and there'll be lots of waiting on the stairs as well as people passing up and down. Toilets: nice restrooms but only two small rooms. Tour buses and cruise ship groups should be aware. You have limited time - you will spend most if it queuing, so try not to need it! Time needed: as much or little as you want. We had fun filming a video on the way up and down as well as stacks of photos at the top! I even video called my parents from the top - they could barely hear me with the wind blowing! Overall: great fun, great value, super views, nice short tourist visit, very interesting. And if you're hungry, you could eat at the King Henry VIII...
Read moreToday, my vacation adventure took me to Gibb's Hill Lighthouse.
Climbing the winding staircase, I couldn't contain my excitement as I caught glimpses of the breathtaking panoramic views through the peak hole square windows. The sights that awaited me at the top were nothing short of spectacular. The lighthouse stands tall, offering commanding views of turquoise waters that sparkle in the sunlight. The views also showcased the picturesque white-roofed houses dotting the landscape, adding a touch of charm to the scene.
Gibb's Hill Lighthouse is more than just a vantage point—it's a beacon of history. Opening its doors in 1846, it witnessed the passage of time and the evolution of Bermuda.
This experience was undoubtedly one for the books, immersing myself in the magnificence of Bermuda. When you visit, @Bermuda, this is a must-see attraction. The cost is only $2.50 for 185 steps for...
Read moreWe visited Gibbs about 30 minutes before closing and they were so nice to leave the gift shop open until after we came back down... Which then was 5 minutes before closing. Well worth the climb if you have a good heart and energetic legs.. Even a bit romantic at the top as we were the only ones up there... 💝 you can see the ocean on both sides of the island as that part of the island is narrow. Save money for the gift shop because it has very economical deals. We never got to enjoy our gifts though because we got robbed on the descent back down the road heading west... When a motorcycle came up along side our motorized scooter and grabbed the bag that we had laying in the basket behind us. Just be careful to hide your merchandise if you...
