Visited the park at 8am, opening time, on a February Sunday. The hike up is easy, moderate at a few points. Even though it was a sunny day there was shade all along while going up, and down, because the trees are so high. It’s a beautiful park, and the hike a nice opportunity to get immersed into nature, relax and let go, meditate, pray, and express your gratitude for the miracle of nature. I had my water bottle with me. Did not use any of the facilities. Took some great pictures and took some time to read the interesting story of the park, It’s all in Portuguese but you can translate it using your phone. Entrance to the park is free. I spent one hour inside because I was alone but I can see families or groups of friends spending more time making a day-trip out of it. It’s a protected area so make sure you treat it respectfully, keep it clean and leave nothing behind. When you climb up you will get great views of the Christ, Dois Irmãos (two brothers mountains), Lagoa, Ipanema and Leblon.

A entrada do parque é gratuita.

Wonderful refreshing park with amazing view over some of the attractions of Rio de Janeiro. The view from the spots over the Lagun and to the Cristo or Ipanema is excellent. Make sure that on the day of your visit is no rain. As it is suggested not to use the park on heavy rainy days. Make also sure that you have proper footwear for the hike up to the viewpoints. Its also recommended for children as they enjoyed a lot the view, the hike and the climbing attractions. The staff at the climbing attractions is very friendly and excellent skilled. I can strongly recommend them! The snack bar at the entrance could be a little bit with a wider range of snacks. So bring your own food and water. This place is very family friendly and easy to get there. It is also safe.
