In my opinion the most spectacular beach in Rio. It's located between 2 massive mountains, Morro dois Irmaos and Pedra da Gavea, which confer to it this magic, surreal looking. Not as popular as its famous contenders, Ipanema and Copacabana, nevertheless, especially on weekends, can be quite busy with locals, mostly from the popular favela (Portuguese for slum) Da Rocinha, which is located in Sao Conrado, and surfers.

Overall it's a clean beach, with a crystal clear water and a nice promenade with a few bars and restaurants.

If Ipanema is one the of the most beautiful urban beach in the world, Sao Conrado, without a doubt, is THE WORLD´S MOST BEAUTIFUL one...

Visited 3 beaches Ipanema, Copacabana and this one Praia da Gávea. Only ran into this beach because this was the landing location after hand gliding off the mountain top. Out of the 3 this one is less crowded and the ocean was a lot more active so fun for people who love the water but the downsides were it had less vendors and minimal restaurants within...
