I went a couple weeks ago with a group of families and we had a good time. They have a skate park which is really popular and a small playground for kids. The splash park is also something for younger kids to enjoy and there's 2 large picnic tables with chairs inside that area. There's also an open shed close to the playground with a few more tables and chairs, and there's benches spread out throughout the park. We mainly went to play volleyball, and they already have 4 beach volleyball nets set up in a pit of sand, which was great because we didn't have to worry about setting our own net up. There's also a decent amount of parking but it can be difficult to find a spot during busy times. Unfortunately, it was pretty windy when we went and there was no closed or partly closed area to sit, but it was still fun. The park itself is pretty big and there's a path and goes around the whole thing, which is great if you have dogs, or want to job or...
Read moreWe went about two weeks ago with our little ones under 1 to the splash park. Wouldn't recommend it for babies or toddlers because it does get quite crowded. More of a bigger kid park. Lots of space and features for big kids to play on. Unfortunately the water was shut off pretty early so we left (about 2pm on a weekday). Its setup like a playground with little separate streams to splash in (very narrow) and rings with water sprays, mini geysers to splash in. We tried the little streams that have short walls but with all the kids running around it didn't seem safe for our little one. There is a green area with three shade structures, the larger shade having picnic tables.
Plan ahead, be early parking is limited but there is additional parking on the other side of the park off the main road.
Does not have a waddle pond...
Read moreI really only use the skatepark. But it's very over run with little children who know nothing about skatepark etiquette. As a 20+ year skatepark rider, it's sad to see no one teaching their kids the rules. And parents use it like a playground. Drop your kids and go gab with the other parents. Not the kind of place you just let your kids loose at. We need more parks in airdrie to disperse the amount of children who frequent them. The splash park is also very over run. I won't even take my kids there because it's so ridiculously packed all the time. Airdrie needs to seriously step up with their outdoor activities. It's very lacking in that department considering the huge amount of...
