We had planned to do the Crypt Lake hike but didn’t realize that it was still too early in the season. A local recommended trying the Cameron Lakes hike. It’s about 7.5hrs from the start at Cameron Lake and ends in the town of Waterton. You need to take a shuttle or get dropped off at the trailhead to do this hike one way. The shuttles weren’t running so we drove ourselves and just hiked to the first lake. Summit Lake and then back to our car. It took us about 3.5hrs round trip. It was still very much winter with snow at the top which we were not prepared for. I believe we were the only ones on the entire trail. We plan to come back and complete the entire hike later in the season. Seems like it would be an amazing hike. Very beautiful. The section we did was not overly steep with many switchbacks to get to the top of the first leg...

Cameron Falls – Not Quite What I Expected—Visited Cameron Falls in the weekends and found it a bit underwhelming.

The area was littered with old driftwood, which made the view feel cluttered and less scenic than anticipated. The river was shallow and had a greyish hue, lacking the vibrant flow I’d hoped for. There was also a noticeable odor that made it hard to enjoy the surroundings.

That said, the viewing platform is well-placed and the surrounding forest is lush—so I can see how it might be more appealing in a different season or after rainfall. If you’re passing through, it might be worth a quick stop, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

✅ Tip: If you’re planning a visit, check recent photos or ask locals about current conditions. Timing seems to make a big...

Our visit to Cameron Falls in Waterton was truly breathtaking! I had the joy of experiencing this natural wonder with my wife and kids, along with her parents and a friend’s family. The cascading waters, surrounded by rugged beauty, created an awe-inspiring scene that reminded me of Erin Ijesa in my home town im Nigeria—a place with a similar majestic charm. We captured incredible pictures, soaking in the serenity and grandeur of the falls, and relishing the peaceful atmosphere. The trip was a perfect blend of family, friendship, and the mesmerizing...
