Majha Malwa Doaba — Attraction in Brampton

I bought a mortar & pestle (koonda & ghotna) on Tuesday April 19, 2022 and specifically asked the two girls at the cashier's register whether I could return it as I was buying for someone else. I was told by both that I would be able to.

I brought the items back on Thursday April 21, 2022 literally two days after purchase and the items were completely unused. One of the two girls that I spoke with on Tuesday was working the reigster and when I told her I wanted to return it she said they don't return items and that everything is final sale. She remembered me and phoned either the supervisor or, I would assume, the owner to ask her what to do. The owner told her to not give me any refund. They instead began offering me a $25 gift card despite the mortar & pestle purchase price being about $39.

I can honestly say the store owner and the staff are some of the most discourteous and uncivil people I have had the displeasure of dealing with. The girl at the register started to argue with me as opposed to understanding the situation. It seemed like the staff had zero customer service training or common sense. It was the worst experience I have ever had in a store in my life. It was so upsetting that I left the mortar & pestle and told them to keep it and just walked out of the store. Rude staff, terrible customer service, overpriced, and bad quality. I spent over $150 on decorative supplies here on things that were either still in the packaging or together when I left the store and almost everything I opened and tried to use when I got home was broken or broke as I was removing it from the bag. While in the store you can listen to the aunties behind the counter judge your appearance and how long you’re taking in Punjabi (none of them will offer to help you until you ask them multiple times to) as you wander through the store to look at items that have no proper labelling and half the time don’t even have price tags so your final receipt will be a nice surprise. On top of that, they don’t give proper itemized receipts, it just lists the price and not what the item is so you can’t double check after it’s been processed. I was charged multiple times for single items which I did not see until I counted the items in my bag vs the number of items shown on the receipt. I came here with really high hopes and was excited to use the stuff at my cousins wedding but none of it was in proper condition to use and the staff alone make me never want to shop there again. Your money is better spent on Amazon than here because Amazon will at least...

We went in there to buy bunch of stuff but when we just stepped in a young female employee started staring at us, we felt she think we are there to steal stuff, we found that super disrespectful, when we were checking wall photos that girl stood behind us and kept looking closely. That was so weird. We walked out empty hands we did not buy anything just because of that female

Secondly, just a suggestion you guys have religious photos inside, no one should be allowed to walk with footwear’s and all customers should cover their head.
