This place is just about amazing as the sweet and humble owner who works there. I still enjoy the other mainstream places on occasion but honey, the shawarma pasta... I want to live in it. Or the Kofta platter or his version of chicken on the rocks! Or the chicken salad and omg his beef hamburger!! Fuhhhhhhhhhg. If I wore a wig it'd fly off every time I ate here.
All jokes aside, any good chef has the responsibility of making food taste delicious but not all of them can do that while making you feel this way.
Sounds cliche af when I say this but you can really taste the quality and dedication that Nader puts into his work. This not a fast food place no, no. Each order takes 1 man to place and that very same man to make. If you don't have the time to wait 5 mins then gtf outta h--- jk jk call him to preorder. But why do that when you can go there and listen to his life stories while he prepares your food? Ever heard of Chef's Table on Netflix? Well this my friend, this is live.
Also I don't think a lot of people appreciate how clean and neat Nader keeps his kitchen. Just visit him one day to say hi and talk about life. Take note of everything from the work stations to the floor. Everything is made right in the front of you so there's nothing to hide. His food isn't covered in sauce to mask anything from anything, booboo. Real eyes realize real lies.
If there was a higher rating than 5 stars, I'd bless this...
Read moreNader (owner) is THE Best. Kind, thoughtful, hardworker. Probably one of the first to offer different cuisine in the immediate neighbourhood. He's our neighbour. (We're a few doors down at Organic Oven.) If he's not busy, he'll deliver your food, if you're walking distance. He's just such a nice person. He works so hard every single day. I have three little kids I have to tag to work with me sometimes, and he's rescued many meals for us. My kids are super picky but they love his food. Highly recommend.
(On a side note not related to food, I have an ageing family member with dementia and Nader is old-school. Neighbourly. Respect your elders type of guy. He befriended my relative and sometimes keeps them company on days when they're at work with me. I love supporting people who work hard, but also care about their...
Read moreI really liked the shawarma here until I saw how bad their hygiene practices are. While I was eating there, I saw the gentleman making the food use the same gloves to answer the phone, use the pen, cash out a customer at the register, and use the same gloves/hands to pick up salad and put it into a customer’s shawarma.
All the germs from the phone, cash register etc go into the food we eat because of the gloves. I understand it may be challenging to have a separate cashier, but is it too hard to put on a pair of new gloves when you make food for your customers?
I hope you would kindly consider paying attention to cleanliness and hygiene in your food preparation. Food is very tasty though, but I can’t get myself to eat...
