The drawback here for me is it's an outdoor mall. Cold in Winter, a pain in bad weather and hot when you want/need air conditioning. Mall has got a few much needed new stores such as Michaels, Marshalls, DSW and a larger Winners in 2018. Crazy during the Christmas holiday shopping period, but good the rest of the year. Could really use a variety store and a post office. Update Aug 2022 Unfortunately driving in and out continues to tend to be a circus on weekends and before holidays. During Covid shopping here was all about long line ups in the sun, rain or snow/ cold. They were pretty good at following protocols which is great. Traffic was worse than ever in 2020/ 2021 again probably due to Covid Upto 10-15 minutes for buses to get onto Bovaird from the bus terminal, which is absolutely nuts. Now that Trinity Common is over 24 yrs old it could use some updating. They did some repaving by Michaels, Winners, Marshalls DSW area. They finally opened the new Liquor Store this Spring/ Summer by the bus terminal. It seemed to take forever for them to convert it from what was clothing store. I'm imagining it had to do with Covid. An LCBO was needed in this area. So glad it's open now. Things are feeling a bit more normal as protocols change and lighten.
UPDATE: DECEMBER 2022 Trinity Common has been less busy this year and even with Christmas being around the corner it's not been anywhere near as busy as usual or compared to 2021. For the first time in 25 yrs I haven't seen the Police directing traffic inyo/ out of the shopping area for holiday shopping.
Some Covid protocols are somewhat still in place. Stores still seem to be supplying Hand Sanitizer at entrances, checkouts etc. and you grab disinfecting wipes for carts. All stores still have partitions up at Cash Registers, some employees and customers are still wearing masks. Some customers still try to stand a part a bit though rarely 6ft any more.
Parts of the parking lot were repaved this year. A few new places opened up...a Cannabis store, a Hakka restaurant. The Transit office still remains closed. I'm hoping that will reopen in the new year as we really need it for this side of town. City Centre and Gateway are a distance for transit riders on this side of town needing...
