SHOPPERS' WORLD HAS A CONVENIENT LOCATION with great stores and small food court with diverse culture and food. Also, it has diversity of clothes, brands, food and entertainment, plenty of parking. So, someone may ask why with all its benefits it still represents a waste of space and opportunities not only of investment. In my opinion, the real problem in this mall affecting businesses of small and medium enterprises is the lack of business standards which keeps away the customers who really want to buy.
It may look attractive to start a business to some people because it has in, out and close by stores, such as, Winners, Canadian Tire, Carter’s, Bulk Barn, grocery stores such as, Superstore, Giant Tiger, Food Basics and Oceans. Not only a very complete food-court, but places such as Subway, Tim Horton's, Popeye’s, Cesar’s Pizza, Burrito Boy, Cinnabon, pharmacy – beauty boutique – Canada Post, fitness, banks, retail households, Staples, and gas station.
There are some points I would like to stress out here. For example, I stopped coming back to this mall years ago because I got a very bad impression after visiting a couple of times. There are many good stores openings, but they do not last long.
Personally, I am not a brand person, so I am okay to give opportunity to small businesses, which have good quality of shoes and good variety in clothes to offer cheaper than the brands. I mean, there are some stores where I would hardly shop, such as Ardene. I agree with some comments that this mall has a Flea market looking at this point. I would like to emphasize that this issue affects business severely.
On the other hand, during rain time, it is a must for the administration and maintenance working as a team to take seriously finding the cause and to repair of the leaks in the roof around the mall as it gives a terrible business looking with so many buckets placed in the corridors to store the water that enters. Are you kidding me! Then, replace the ceiling immediately as the water stains are usually left there giving the mall a dirty, depressing an uninviting aspect.
Some signs to educate people should be place strategically suggesting using the sits for maximum 20 to 30 minutes as a courtesy for other shoppers who may need a quick rest too or who may prefer seating while their family members are shopping because I have the feeling that some people may think that they may be sitting in their living room lol, lol.
I am not talking about the amazing senior program Shopper’s World mall has by opening its doors early for walkers and it's a common sight to see people circling the mall on foot before the stores open.
An agreement should be signed with Oceans grocery store so that the strange odors that frequently emanate from the store are controlled because cleanliness is a most to relaxation while shopping. Some unpleasant odors are dispersed throughout most of the mall and that drives away the buyers. For example, many times I enter holding my breath to cross over to the place I'm going.
The mall flooring won’t harmonize with its surrounding. I think it would be nice if at least sometimes it would be polished occasionally, and kept it clean at all times regardless of the weather. Worst of all, almost all stores have disgusting floors no matter if they are supermarkets, restaurants, opticians, furniture or a travel agency.
One last thing, entrepreneurs and employees must understand that Brampton is a multicultural city and people from all over the world will be visiting and/or working. Diversity is a plus in Brampton but a dress code for employees should be also set. Remember, we are all newcomers and we are expected to adapt to Canada and no the opposite. I hope things change for good before more businesses...
Read moreFirst, the mall itself is finished. Not meaning it is renovated or modernized in any way. I mean it's finished as there is nothing left to it's existance at it's present moment. Ceiling tiles with water stains, some which are completely damaged and missing and other areas of the mall with 5 gallon pails and wet floor signs to catch the water... Beats the water fountains I suppose... NOT OK So, enter the darkest food court I ever seen which is lighted with sponatnious flourocent tubes so you can't see your food, and you get a food experience like no other.... Which comes to the fact that there are not many vendors left inside the Food Court. The ones which are there are mostly pop ups and look very temporary and struggling to survive. There is an Italian Gelato place where Yogun Fruz / Country Style used to be. WOW It caught our eyes because the girl in the back counter was putting tiny spoons in each of the colorful flavors and so of course you think you can try a flavor or two, with your son (who was with me that day) and buy an ice cream or two. Well, she was quick to announce "SAMPLES ARE FOR PAYING CUSTOMERS ONLY" and then pointed at the sign on the ice cream counter that says just that. Rules are rules I guess. I didn't even ask. I have a rule too. I never pay for samples, especially a tiny spoon of ice cream to get you to buy a bigger scoop. Good luck with your business venture. OK The mall is competely run down. I mean, you can see buy For Lease signs not only posted on store fronts but on the walls and anywhere else they can post a For Lease Sign they would... The mall should be called For Lease World. Samples Not Included. The only good stores are the ones outside the mall like the Beer Store, Footlocker and Kids Footlocker relocated from inside the mall (smart decision) to outside the mall were Spoonful used to be. They really made that store nice. It's big and they fixed it up.. NOTE: They fixed it up! Tenants and mall management take note. There's also an Oceans inside the mall. No, not a real ocean, it's a grocery store. Now, look at the cashier aisles.. ESPECIALLY close to the hot table area. What the heck is that mess? Is that even acceptable??? I am not posting pictures of anything I witnessed as to just have people coming to see that. What I am saying is "fix this place up" There's still going to be several years before you do your multi year project of redoing the entire mall into a community where you can shop, work, play, live.. have it all. Right now, you are giving nothing. Even the HUB is so uninviting and you are already behind by a couple of years on your plan. I seriously think nobody knows what is going on and nobody really cares. Close to Sheridan College, high schools, a major intersection and you can't even have major tenants to cater to the demographics you are missing. The nicest thing I encountered was coming into the mall, by the Fit-For-Less and the Kitchen Stuff Plus, where Staples use to be is you have pylons around an area where a Canadian Goose is looking after her eggs and her mate is watching over her. THAT is not only touching, it's the right thing to do. Thankful and...
Read moreFirst of all, I have been getting my nails and toes done regularly for years. I've had bad experiences and great ones but this one has to have been the worst experience I've ever had for me to write a review for the first time. Let me tell you in advance. AVOID at all cost. The one who did my pedicure obviously doesn't know what she's doing with shellac. Just taking it off was a mission for her considering they were soaking forever and my hands were soaking for over 1 hour. I asked how much their price was for my services and one of their employees who thinks she's a diva wearing leapoard print heels told me 55$. When I got to my check out my total was now 70$... So my toes: one was broken and she said she would glue it cause it was cut deep. I said fine, mind you these are my toes and are not artificial. But then she DOESNT even even the surface of my toe so now I have a bumpy toe because of the stupid glue and I have had this procedure done multiple times with a broken nail and I've never seen such non sense. Then I tell her only to cut them very little but she cuts them extremely short and my big TOES aren't straight!!! I couldn't allow her to fix it because I couldn't deal with her screwing it up even more. She's done enough. Finally she gets to my nails. She can't get my shellac off and wants to re-soak my nails after they littarly been soaking throughout my hole pedicure. Over an hour. I had to finally snap and get someone else and behold she had no problem finishing my nails in 15 minutes. Mind you they clearly don't understand English or they just think they can do what they think it's best because my natural nails now became even more shorter after I told her not to cut them just file them into place. I wanted square. None of em turned out square and my thumbs are crooked. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. The most brutal experience in my life. Tip to those working there you're the one getting paid so if someone tells you something that they want LISTEN!!!! You are all a bunch of unprofessional, un talented bunch and I hope your business shuts down soon enough because your store and your people don't deserve to run this business. It's a SAD excuse of...
