Harmony Square — Attraction in Brantford

I remember going to Movies in the Square every Thursday night, growing up as a kid. My brother and I would become champions at Captain Kindnesses’ games and would always walk away with free ice cream slips. That was just over a decade ago!

Now Harmony Square is the heart & soul to the developing Downtown Brantford. The Square provides free events all summer long & is the setting to many of the City’s biggest & coolest events such as Scare in the Square, Chili Cook Off (My favourite) and of course, Movies in the Square. Even when there is no events going on, there is still stuff to do! For example; Splash pad & patio drinks in the summer or Skating & Music in the winter.

Brantford’s downtown might have a controversial reputation, however Harmony Square is the contrast. A lot has changed in the past 10 years for downtown brantford and it’s important to remember it all began with the creation of Harmony...

Harmony square is a nice little outdoor space in down brantford. In the winter it has a nice skating rink and it the summer a nice water feature that kids seem to love to play in like a splash pad. Thought out the year there is different festivals that happen like new years, a chilly cook off and a jazz festival. A bunch of different things. Lots of fun events this particular time was to see the Practically Hip. The band was ok and people were having fun. In the winter harmony square has a nice ice rink especially for younger children. The area is kept pretty clean for the amount of people that go there. Only issue I have is people don't walk away to smoke cigarettes or pot when kids are trying to enjoy themselves. And some of the teens are pretty rude with the staff that cleans and keeps...
