I recently had the pleasure of dining in at this delightful restaurant with my mom and two sons, and it was an experience to remember! We decided to share a variety of dishes, and I must say, everything we tried was simply amazing.
We kicked off our meal with spring rolls and cheese wontons as appetizers. The spring rolls were crispy and packed with flavour, while the cheese wontons were a delightful surprise—crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Best ones we’ve tried!! For our main course, we ordered chicken wonton soup, which was delicious and comforting, perfect for warming us up. We ordered it a little spicy and it was bursting with flavour.
The chicken and shrimp chow mein was a standout dish, featuring perfectly cooked noodles and a generous amount of tender chicken and shrimp. The vegetable fried rice was equally impressive, with fresh vegetables and flavour. My son opted for the beef stew rice and absolutely loved it, raving about the rich flavours and tender meat. It was melt in your mouth tender!
We also ventured into the classics with sweet and sour chicken and kung pao chicken. Both dishes were fantastic, offering a perfect balance of flavours and textures. The portion sizes were generous, and we left with plenty of leftovers to enjoy at home.
The service was another highlight of our visit. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Overall, this restaurant exceeded our expectations with its delicious food, great portion sizes, and fantastic service. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their menu! Highly recommended!
Ps. Don’t forget to order their signature iced sweet tea!! You won’t regret it!! Will definitely be back to order that...
Read moreIt used to be a 5 star when it first started. We ordered something and later found out it wasn't ordered at all, even though that me and my mother had repeatedly mentioned we want two of the number 3 items at least 8 times. The serving speed is plenty fast, the choices has gone up by quite a bit, so as the price, not so much about the amount of food I'm getting, and the taste is quite blend for the price. It's now a proper restaurant, but I rather have it to go back to its early state.
here are couple recommendations to the cook back there, I am a cook myself, so I think my opinion would matter a bit.
First thing first, the portion of the course is a bit too small, I know you are trying to make it pretty, but it still should be enough for an average adult to eat, my place's special (only happens couple times a week since we are a b&g) serves more than what you are serving here for much less price.
Second, and I'm only talking about 麻辣香鍋 (translate it yourself people..), the ratio between meat and veggies should've been at least 30/70, where yours is almost 5/95, I could only find 5 pieces of meat, if you can call them meat, in the entire bowl, the rest is 6 or 7 pieces of fungus, and an entire bowl of napa cabbage. I don't think that's how it should be portioned.
Third, we are still talking about the same menu item, the ratio between pepper and zythoxylum is wrong as well, the main feel of this course is numb, and all I tasted was hot. Plus, it doesn't really smell at all, again, that's against its original...
Read moreDid we get the sister that can't cook? Ordered $80 worth of takeout - beef with broccoli, black pepper beef, chili chicken, beef chow mein, chicken fried rice...we were the FIRST in the store at open today, so everything should have been fresh. What we got was 5 dishes of bland mush...and I do mean no flavor mush.
Everything was either overcooked, over-sauced to the point where meat and vegetables were disintegrating, or had only one over-powering flavor; we went here after a friend recommended...what a disappointment.
The black pepper beef looked like a bowl of dark gravy, and tasted only of onion. The beef & broccoli had the same consistency you get with previously frozen vegetables, but tasted of corn starch. The chicken fried rice was over cooked and chewy. The beef chow mein was cooked nice, but the only flavor was a hint of soya sauce. Lastly the Chili Chicken, looked good, was cooked well...but tasted only of overpowering raw green chili.
We've eaten at a lot of different Chinese and Halal restaurants, and this one ranks at the bottom. We definitely would not return, nor would we recommend to anyone who enjoys...
