I was disappointed with my first visit to this place. I already knew the açaí there was pricey for the amount you get, but what upset me was when I placed my order. When I ordered a set bowl, I asked to add dry milk, and from what I understand, it should be free since toppings are unlimited. However, the screen showed an additional charge of $1.99 for that. Frankly, what disappointed me even more was that when I received the bowl, the dry milk was just sprinkled on top! Just traces! Seriously? From what I understand, the dry milk should come in a much more generous amount, like an additional layer (at least that's how it's done in Brazil). Given that this is a franchise of a Brazilian company, they should at least follow the Brazilian standard.
The final straw was when, at the moment of payment, my Oakberry gift card was not accepted. A friend of mine who works at one of the franchises confirmed that it should be accepted since there are no usage restrictions on the gift card I received. However, the cashier refused to accept it, stating that it should be used at the location where my friend works then. What I think is, since this location is new in the mall, they should have made an effort to retain potential customers rather than completely invalidating a voucher that should be accepted at any Oakberry location. Anyways, delicious açaí (the reason why I gave 2 stars instead of 1), but a...
Read moreThis is a really busy location to have only one staff member working a shift.
The girl on duty was incredibly kind and clearly doing her best—that's not the issue. The issue is that she’s overwhelmed: taking orders, refilling machines, cutting fruit, and managing everything on her own, all while a line of customers builds up.
After placing my order, she received a phone call telling her she needed to go collect a delivery. She apologized and told me she had to step away to get it. At this point, I had already been waiting around 10 minutes. I felt bad, but I let her know I was in a bit of a rush. She kindly agreed to stay and prepare my order.
While making it, she was multitasking—washing fruit, cutting it, and preparing bowls—which led to some ingredients I requested being forgotten. Meanwhile, two more customers were still waiting behind me to be helped.
I really feel for her. She was doing everything she could, but no one should be expected to run an entire store alone during such...
Read moreI saw it on tiktok and needed to give it a try and it did not disappoint. There are so many options, smoothies, bowls, protein snacks, but good thing the owner was there and was very accommodating. I tried the acai crunchy bowl.. the acai wasss sssooooo cold and refreshing! All the fruits that were used were fresh! They didnt have the cocoa nibs that i wanted to try, but i had the option to substitute it with other topping and the owner recommended the PB crumbs which was combined with the granola and gave that perfect crunch! Cherry on top was the chia seeds that i love! The good thing about it is that all ingredients are organic and whole. Its the best alternative for a dessert or if you have that sweet cravings but dont want to feel that guilt for days! I highly recommend this even for kids, instead of having other sugary treats! Lets support this place as it is a healthier option and...
