Such an amazing place will 100% be back whenever we can this restaurant completely ruined every other restaurant type establishment it’s so good we had Siqi as our server and she’s AMAZING so sweet and helpful we go in and immediately amazing the lobby area has a little snacky thing not sure didint see much as even though we were early to our reservation got in right away siqi then helped me sign into the iPad your given to order on to get points and such. When we got to the table there was also a small plate and bowl with some honey dew melon slices, blueberries and cherry tomatoes it was amazing we got our broths (all tasted soooo good) we got 4 types and she gave us some small bowls because 2 of the broths we got she made a small soup type thing with the tomato broth we got she added a little of this meat and maybe green onion I’m not sure all I know it tasted so good the food was all amazing and a few minutes after we ordered there was a dance started someone was In full Chinese regalia and dancing I’m not sure what it was called but they also had a mask on that was changing as well I’m not entirely sure how to describe it (post hot pot happy fog) soo amazing also siqi told us about some codes you could use to get some things she said if we looked online (TikTok and such) you should find them I looked and couldn’t find the specific one she told us about so she just added it ❤️ she came over with these little wand type things super cool. My brother wasn’t feeling great after a while since we are on a road trip and have been pretty tired so she brought him a paper fan and a little fidget toy type thing that you can play rock paper scissors with as it spins. At the end of the dinner we were given ice cream it was so good and they have containers you can put the left over hot pot into including the broth and I had gotten matcha and I thought since there was a can and a another option since the other option (I forgot the name) was only a little more expensive I’d get that it was a huge jug only 9$ matcha and so we were able to bring what was left over back since I’m the only one out of the 3 of us who drinks matcha there was quite a good bit. Then the total after eating so so much food and having so much left over was only 120 crazy but also since my birthday is only a couple of weeks away there was a 30$ off coupon she told us about and so that’s amazing and she also came over to us and sung a happy birthday song gave me a little cake perfect with a candle and had a speaker playing the music too it was amazing truly also the woman’s bathrooms SO GOOD they were so clean had tooth picks, mouth wash, small cotton pads, hair bands, perfume, lotion, and free feminine hygiene products. And at the end we we’re leaving we were given a small baggy of a few snacks such an amazing experience amazing customer service and just everything was perfect thank you all for such an awesome day because this...

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Haidilao Hotpot Brentwood absolutely exceeded my expectations—and that’s saying a lot, because I already came in expecting good food and service. What I got was a next-level experience that genuinely made me feel taken care of from start to finish.

Let’s start with the service. Right from the moment we were seated, the attention to detail was impressive. Our server checked on us consistently, but never in a way that felt intrusive or overbearing. Just the right balance. They changed our plates multiple times without us even having to ask. Napkins? Refilled. Sauces? Explained. Broth running low? Already handled. It felt like they anticipated every need before I even realized it myself.

And the small things really made it special. We were given aprons and hair ties, which was honestly such a thoughtful touch—you don’t realize how helpful it is until you’re trying to enjoy hotpot without worrying about stains or hair in the way. They even offered screen protectors for phones and glasses wipes. Where else do you get this kind of care?

The food, of course, was delicious. The ingredients were fresh, the meat was high quality (get the beef—trust me), and the broth options were amazing. We went with a split pot so we could try a few different kinds. I personally loved the mushroom broth, but even the spicier ones had so much flavor depth. The sauce bar was a huge win—tons of options and you can totally customize everything to your liking.

One of the highlights for me was the entertainment factor. The famous hand-pulled noodle performance lived up to the hype. The noodle guy had flair, precision, and it added such a fun energy to the meal. Kids and adults alike were smiling. It turned dinner into an experience. I also saw some birthday celebrations going on at another table—complete with music and dancing servers. There’s definitely a festive vibe here that you don’t get at most restaurants.

But what really sealed the deal for me was what happened after we finished eating. Our server came by with little surprise gifts—free soft serve ice cream and a small bag of candies to take home. It was such a sweet gesture (literally and figuratively). It wasn’t just a gimmick, it felt sincere. Like, “Thanks for coming, we hope this makes your day better.”

This place knows how to make guests feel special, and they go above and beyond in every category. Whether it’s your first time trying hotpot or you’re already a fan, Haidilao Brentwood sets the gold standard.

Absolutely worth the hype. I’ll definitely be back—and I’ll be bringing more friends with me next time. Bravo to the team for making something as simple as a meal feel...

New Hai Di Lao location in Brentwood. The interior is big but it gets busy by noon. Pricewise, it can be a bit expensive depending on what you order.

I've been to other locations and I've always commented on the service being attentive. Maybe I'm just getting too old but I almost felt like the service at this location was TOO attentive (to the point of being distracting). I had to move my water glass to the outside if the table because they kept coming by and stretching over me to refill my glass. I know they're can be worse problems but sometimes I just want to sit back and enjoy my hotpot without having intrusions.

Anyways, we got the pork and tomato broth along with marbled beef, assorted veggies, assorted fungus, fish tofu, meatballs, udon, taro, and half an order of quail eggs. You pay extra for sauce station and it is worth it because you also get appies and dessert there. This meal wound up being about $100. You can use one if the many "hacks" to get free stuff (am I the only one who dislikes "hacks"? If you're going to give me something free, just do it... don't make me jump through some cutesy hoops).

All that being said, food is good and service is attentive (whether you like that or not). I liked that they give you aprons and the sauce bar is great. But that thin single-ply tissue they give you at the table is pretty useless if you're like me and make a mess when cooking.

Update - February 2025: It's been about 8 months since our last visit here. Since then, they have introduced a weekday lunch special (you need to sign up for their free membership program) where they have combos at $19.95 (the sauce bar is an extra $3.99 per person and worth it). At just under $24, the price is better than some of the prices at the Brentwood food court.

There are limited broth options for the combo (we chose the sukiyaki and the pork bone broth - they arrive in 1/4 pot servings so if you have 2 people dining, each can get their own 1/4 pot and the remaining 1/2 pot is just filled with water).

For our proteins, we got the premium fatty beef and the basa fillet (the serving of fish was quite ample). For starches, we picked the noodles and fried buns with condensed milk (quite good). You also get unlimited passionfruit drink refills. You also get a combo plate which includes veggies, spam, corn, shrimp balls, quail eggs, etc... (similar to what you get at other hot pot places). Finally, you get ice cream at the end (we got Chapman's).

I was worried there might be not enough food given the cheaper combo price but we walked away with leftovers. Good value that competes with the other hot pot places...

A new HAI… Glad to try out Haidilao’s newest location that’s finally opened at the Amazing Brentwood and it appeared to be one of the biggest location in BC so far?!? It is conveniently located on the second floor right beside the food court. There are paid parking around the mall areas or underground parking. Like all Haidilao locations, was greeted by the hostesses by the entrance and signed into the touch pad to register my arrival. The waiting area was stocked with light refreshments and little munchies. After being seated, the waitress introduced herself and the menu along with some refreshments. I opted out on the apron that was offered, I personally enjoying dining in comfort without looking like auntie there. Here were the food I ordered; 1. Double broth (spicy soup base with milk & oat milk soup base). The soup bases were rich and flavourful as always but I find the oat milk to be a bit on the sweeter side. 2. A5 Miyazaki wagyu. Nice portion for the price, tender and buttery. 3. Wagyu boneless short rib. Tender, buttery and tasty. 4. Prime boneless short rib. Pretty good but portion seems a bit little, making almost the wagyu dish was a better deal. 5. Live geoduck. Very fresh and always a good hot pot dish even though it’s on the pricey side. 6. Pork blood, frozen tofu, bamboo fungus, assorted vegetables. Good quality, basic straightforward hot pot dishes. 7. Chive dumplings. Simple but tasty little guys to add some carbs to the meal. Overall, this new location brings a very lively and comfortable dining experience with its spacious modern layout. Furthermore, it’s using a built in ventilator around each pots to prevent any smell or steam wandering off. This modern technology prevents you, your clothes and the dining area of any smell of hot pot food (loved it!). The food quality as always, great! And nice to see how clean the sauce stations were along with fresh fruits and little appetizers. As for the service, it was really attentive as if it was sometimes a bit much, but that’s a good thing right? However, a little bit conservative in giving the little gifts out by compared to the other locations. What can I say that hasn’t been said? Always a recommendation by me if you don’t mind paying a little more for fine quality food and outstanding service! Reservation is highly recommended.
