SUPER Fun floating/swimming hole! WEAR A LIFE JACKET and stay on the class 2 side unless you have skills for class 3 rapids. Prepare ro stay for a few hours, water is very inviting!! Just wonderful that the city created this little fabulous retreat. Can't wait to go back. Floating down just in a life jacket is more work than expected : mask or goggles and water shoes that are very secure at the heal are definitely recommended. Go feet first as bumps and scraps are possible. Just awesome...

Even if you are living in Calgary, it is quite possible, you have overlooked, missed or just ignored this bright spot to enjoy nature’s bounties. Natural landscape, brilliant architectural art work, breezily flowing water down the stones, flora and fauna in a vast layout will keep you engrossed for a couple of hours!!! Nice picturesque spot for shutterbugs and humongous backdrops for hardcore and perpetually narcissistic selfie seekers! Be here, you wouldn’t regret. Sure you will come...

People treat this like an outdoor water park instead the actual class 2 rapids that they are. Albeit our group passed through on a raft during the hottest day of the year- but we were not ready/expecting a thousand people to be in the water playing. No one was paying attention, and half the people weren't wearing life jackets. The passage itself was fine for the raft. But it was just way too busy, with too many families and kids without a care...

Amazing jewel of the city. 1/2 km walk from the parking lot. 1/2 km of 8 cascading pools of water. The passage is built for sitting next to the water. There is not a lot of shade (those spots go fast) so bring an umbrella if you can. You will see people floating, swim, SUP and even surfing the passage. There is a small beach at the top that’s got safety buoys marking out the water for swimming safely. Such a magical little spot. Fun for the whole family

About Harvie Passage. Beautiful walkways by the bow River! In 1904, a weir was built across the Bow River to divert water for agriculture. Unfortunately, the weir has a dangerous side effect – it crease a lethal hydraulic wave that prevents movement up or down stream and has claimed the lives of several people.
