I chose to stay at this hotel on August 19th and had a very unpleasant experience with the airport shuttle service.||My flight landed at 9:40 PM. By 10:15 PM I had collected all my luggage and, following the hotel’s booking instructions, I went outside to the arrivals hall and contacted them. The first operator told me that the shuttle had just left and that I would need to wait more than an hour before I could get on. I was shocked and asked him to confirm, “Do you mean I have to wait at the airport until 11:30 PM?” He said yes. I explained that I was traveling with a child who was exhausted after a long flight, but he said there was nothing he could do. I had no choice but to order a Lyft at my own expense.||Ten minutes later, just as my Lyft was about to arrive, the hotel front desk called me again and asked if I had requested the shuttle service. I said yes. They then told me I could wait 20 minutes and the shuttle would come pick me up. I said it was too late to cancel my ride and that I would like to be reimbursed for the taxi cost. The operator refused.||I contacted their management, and I am not asking for any additional compensation—only reimbursement of the $16.99 ride, as this expense was caused by their improper arrangements. Both the Front Desk Manager and the Assistant Manager expressed understanding and offered apologies, but still refused to reimburse me. They argued that the hotel had already provided the service within the communicated timeframe, and that the shuttle is a complimentary service. This is absurd. You are an airport hotel—if you don’t provide a reliable free shuttle, what competitive advantage do you have? Do guests choose your hotel just to watch airplanes? Isn’t this supposed to be a standard service? I chose your hotel specifically because of its proximity to the airport and because it advertised a shuttle service, but due to poor arrangements, you indirectly caused me financial loss.||Furthermore, the manager’s explanation about various delays does not hold up at all. The hotel is only 4 km from the airport. My taxi ride there, as well as my return by shuttle the next day, both took only 8 minutes. Yet your operator told me to wait more than an hour—what is the point of offering this “free” service in that case? The manager also claimed the shuttle runs every 30 minutes on a first-come-first-served basis. However, the information I received upon booking was that I should call the hotel upon arrival for pickup. If the shuttle cannot be arranged and is simply a fixed-timetable service, then what is the point of contacting the hotel?||I have stayed at many airport hotels before, and the wait has basically never exceeded 10 minutes. Many even arrange dedicated pickups, not shared, fixed-route shuttles.||I also attempted to contact Wyndham corporate, but they informed me that this is a franchised property and they have no authority over...
Read moreReception staff is friendly, wait times are usually short. Comfortable bed (only 4 standard pillows for a king size mattress) One AC outlet on each bedside lamp (which strangely had 2 switches, only the furthest of which was functional) One USB outlet on clock radio on one night table another behind the clock radio in the bed stand back board, one in desk lamp near telephone. Large flat screen HDTV with cable Efficient window heater/air conditioner. One cup coffee brewer with paper cups (ours was missing a leg underneath) not connected to an outlet under the TV. Mini fridge, Microwave. Room very clean. Recycle/trash bins. Nice ceramic wood-look tiling in bathroom and hallway. Modern quartz counter vanity in bathroom, luxury tiled glassed in shower with good spray head. Night light in electrical outlet beside bathroom sink was very appreciated during the night. Combo stable door for bathroom/closet door. Only 4 hangers in closet. Complete cooked breakfast with a variety of choices. Very reasonable hours. Promptly stocked and cleaned. Breakfast workers extremely friendly, helpful and kind. Carpeting in hallways a garish yellowish orange circle/grey stripe pattern. Does not represent the green of the brand or any rich design or texture. Probably the least attractive part of the hotel. Pool/hot tub not operational during our stay. No indication on website during booking or confirmation. Rudimentary Fitness Center with free weights and treadmills. Soundproofing of rooms from airplane noise is excellent. Sound from hallways carries easily, earplugs recommended for light sleepers (not provided in room). Airport shuttle leaves hotel every half hour on the hour, picks up at the airport 10-20 minutes later. Hotel must be called to arrange. Curious that the Wyndham Garden is only a building away, but they do not share a shuttle, I guess they’re independently owned. Teaming up would save fuel and staff, or possibly provide 15-20...
Read moreDo not book with this hotel. It was a horrendous experience!
My elderly parents stayed for 2 nights. On their first morning, my mother suffered a very serious fall due to an extremely slippery shower floor. We spent an entire day in a hospital dealing with her injuries.
When we spoke with the front desk staff, they informed us that they knew that the showers were slippery, but they had stopped providing anti-slip mats as guests kept stealing them. The hotel staff and management knew that guests were at risk and were unprepared to absorb the very basic cost associated with protecting people from harmful falls.
Upon hearing about my mother's fall, they have since purchased mats for all of the rooms. It was too little, too late. My mother was injured, and we lost the precious time we had planned for our family visit.
Aside from offering my mother a floormat for her second night or offering to transfer her to an accessible room (which she did not require), there was nothing offered to my parents by way of remedying the situation.
Setting aside this horrible situation, the hotel was lacking in other areas as well.
The hotel is listed as providing breakfast as part of the room rate. Unlike most other hotels that provide a hot breakfast, the hotel only provided cold cereal, bananas and cold eggs. No toaster, no hot food, nothing that one would expect for a typical hotel breakfast.
When my parents asked why there was no hot food, the explanation they were given was that the staff were still waiting for instructions from management. 16 months into the pandemic, and the hotel has not yet figured out how to safely provide your guests with a hot breakfast.
This was an exceptionally poor experience and I would never stay there again and would strongly advise others...
