CPR Station Museum — Attraction in Castlegar

I've known about Castlegar my entire adult life but always passed through. However this time since I have a school aged child, decided to drive into town and take a look around. We came upon this museum and at first stopped to look at the railway, caboose and original jailhouse before committing to going inside. Wow! What a collection of historical artifacts and Livia, the museum guide, provided me a great overview of the local history. I left with more questions than answers and more wonderment than I started with. A great appreciation for history and how far we have come and anticipation for more road to journey. Thank you...

I actually went here becuz it is where the Farmer's Market is at. I hadn't been for about 2 years and was impressed by the upgrades. The actual train "station" is quite nice. An especially interesting place for kids, I thought...with Castlegar's 1st jail, a train car to explore, & artifacts that were used in those days to keep things 'ship shape & in order', & with old time upstairs staff living quarters to check out. The Museum lady was very nice & friendly, esp to my Grandson's.....& strawberries growing in...
