Wunderbar... There is nothing I like more that German food. When I was looking at going to Castlegar I found the Chameleon. I had read one review, and it was the owners response to the review that made me want to drive 250km for dinner. I didn't even look at the menu, I just asked for a nice German meal and a beer. I got spaetzle, schnitzel and vegetables with a gravy boat on the side. It was so good I wanted to get another order and eat all night. Definitely some of the best German home cooking I have had. One of the best German restaurants I have eaten at in BC and AB. The atmosphere reminds me of going to your aunt or your grandmothers house for dinner. I had Bavarian bratwurst with a side of mashed potatoes red cabbage and sauerkraut and carrots. I left satisfied. The service was friendly and fair. The building is an older hotel so don't expect five star decor but it stands out with the food. If you are in Castlegar it is definitely worth putting on the shortlist for good...

Just ate here and I have to say I was quite surprised at how good the food is. I had the bruschetta and it was honestly one of the best I've ever had. I can't wait to come back to try more items on the menu.
