It is an authentic blacksmith shop and they were busy making something or doing a small tour when we arrived. It was during Lacombe Days. I was a little unsure what to do as there were about 5 people present when we arrived but after waiting about 5 minutes no one gave us any information about when the next tour would be or what they were doing. We wanted to buy a geode but there was no one available.
I think this issue could be solved by a little chalkboard sign saying “tour in progress, will finish at approx _ time”. Otherwise I almost felt like I was intruding and I didn’t want to interrupt what they were working on.
I would like to come back sometime. Reminded me of my grandfathers shop and I enjoyed seeing all sorts of various items. The signs about various items and blacksmithing in general were...
Read moreWe dropped by here on Saturday during our visit to Lacombe from Calgary and were quite confused when we arrived as none of the workers greeted or directed us around. There may have been a tour in progress at the back of the shop, but the worker at the front desk didn't bother letting us know if we could join, or wait for the next one - she didn't acknowledge us nor did the blacksmith who entered after.
