It is an authentic blacksmith shop and they were busy making something or doing a small tour when we arrived. It was during Lacombe Days. I was a little unsure what to do as there were about 5 people present when we arrived but after waiting about 5 minutes no one gave us any information about when the next tour would be or what they were doing. We wanted to buy a geode but there was no one available. I think this issue could be solved by a little chalkboard sign saying “tour in progress, will finish at approx ___ time”. Otherwise I almost felt like I was intruding and I didn’t want to interrupt what they were working on. I would like to come back sometime. Reminded me of my grandfathers shop and I enjoyed seeing all sorts of various items. The signs about various items and blacksmithing in general were interesting too.

Entrance is free, donation recommended. Black smiths are hard at work, all the time. A nice peaceful visit.

We dropped by here on Saturday during our visit to Lacombe from Calgary and were quite confused when we arrived as none of the workers greeted or directed us around. There may have been a tour in progress at the back of the shop, but the worker at the front desk didn't bother letting us know if we could join, or wait for the next one - she didn't acknowledge us nor did the blacksmith who entered after. We left shortly after taking a quick look around the shop (which itself looked quite neat) but it was a disappointing...

Best blacksmith shop museum we have ever visited, including that of Heritage Park Calgary. Very friendly and informative staff who knew their stuff and did the work of a blacksmith for us to watch. They even made a ring for my husband on the spot at no charge! Museum had way more artifacts to see than any other we have been to. The elderly gentleman was full of interesting stories and was very wise in the trade. Highly...
